    1. This is not the book for experienced or intermediate writers. It deals in the entire craft of writing very broadly, sometimes skimming over important aspects in just paragraphs. There are dozens of books that discuss any of the topics touched on here in much greater detail and depth. This book is a good start for someone who has never written before and thinks that writing a children's book would be easy.     2. A book for beginners. Some occasional interesting pointers specific to children's writing but large swathes of generic fairly conservative writing hints and tips. The status quo of the traditional publishing model is under no threat here. I loved being warned against the use of 'an infelicitous word or phrase.'
