    1. Decent overall however too much focus on the racial element Pearce believes (at least how I interpreted his writing) plays in gangs. Identity politics seems to be important to him. He often seems to contradict himself on the issue of race, gangs and the police response. The racial profiling argument was paramount in much of his writings.
