    1. Of course I read this. I wrote it. If you work in the education system have kids who are currently in school, you're likely to have met some of the outrageous folks who populate this novel. Only you might not realize this. So read and laugh and learn! This book will make you look at our schools in a new way.

    2. Mickey Hoffman’s School of Lies creates a very believable high school where politics, money, sex and power vie with the need or desire to protect and educate. Standard High is an inner-city failing school, last resting place of failing teachers and students. Quiet Kendra Desola really isn’t the only one who’s concerned for her special ed students, and Vice Principal Zant probably isn’t the only cynical in-it-for-himself administrator. But when news filters through the grapevine, via the [...]

    3. SCHOOL OF LIES – Mickey HoffmanKendra DeSola teaches special education at an inner city school, Standard High School. Short of money for her program, Kendra does the best she can for her students. If there's one thing the kids know, Miss DeSola is there for them. So it's a shock when an apparent blackmail picture shows up, implicating Kendra in a scandal.Terrified her boss, Vice-Principal Zant, will find out and use it against her, Kendra begins to investigate. Her search for the truth turns d [...]

    4. School of lies Mickey HoffmanStandard High is a tough inner city school. Scandal and back-biting run rampant in the halls and especially in the faculty offices. VP Zant is a nasty man but it doesn’t mean the other staff aren’t just as duplicitous as he. An accident that may or may not be an accident happens which leaves several staff scrambling to cover their assets while the police investigate. Meanwhile another teacher receives scandalous and incriminating e-mails that will threaten her ca [...]

    5. When High School teacher Kendra Desola opens an anonymous email she expects to find a bitter complaint from a parent, or a snipe from one of her back-biting co-workers. Instead, a photoshopped attachment shows Kendra getting way too friendly with her male students. She intends to stop this lie before it circulates, but before she can locate the source, the suspicious death of a colleague brings the police on campus. Kendra now fears the email was a set up, to make it look like she had a motive f [...]

    6. Very nicely written and I could certainly relate to the description of the long hours a teacher spends working, of going in on school holidays to re-arrange the classroom and all those signs of dedication. This hit very close to home.It was interesting to me how the story was as much about the politics and daily life in an eventful school as about the event itself. At times maybe a tad too much (I get enough politics at work and I don't understand all teacher issues enough to relate to them all) [...]
