    1. Uneven at best. Rork, the hero, is a standard alpha, but Tia, the heroine - for being such a formidable pirate - veers too often into a damsel who needs to be rescued. It's a dense, slow start that picks up into stronger action, only to grind to a screeching halt when they get stuck on a planet. 3. Enjoyable book, heavy on the sci-fi, character and world building. With some steamy romance thrown in for good measure.

    4. Reread - sometimes I'm in the mood to really enjoy some melodramatic space opera and this is a great example of the genre.
