  1. Feenie Ziner---the author was a friend of my husband's family. This book certainly offers a first half of the 1960s' perspective on raising a houseful of children in suburban NYC. It was much more interesting having heard about the real life characters in this book, from my husband's stories, decades ago. The historical setting is on the cusp of societal changes---we now know---and this walk down memory lane was delightful.
