    1. Even though the type of romance between Judith Davenport and Marcus Devlin, the Marquis of Carrington is not my favorite, I still found VIRTUE to be an alluring and compelling novel. Marcus first encounters Judith and her brother Sebastian in a gaming hell in Brussels as he notices how they work as a team to cheat others in card games. Marcus was even more outraged as his cousin Charles, was one of their victims---but a happy victim, at that, due to all of the attention Charles received from the [...]

    2. Reread from many years ago. Mind candy, mental escapism! The is the first of the V romances.Jane Feather's V series romances stand out from those of other authors in that many of her works address social problems in Regency England. The heroine and her brother are involved in a revenge plot against the Earl of Gracemere who cheated their father out of his land and holdings and caused him to flee to Europe with his small children. The relationship between the hero and the heroine begins with an en [...]

    3. Judith and Sebastian are a brother/sister team of con artists and card sharps, who are building up a good stake of money so they can position themselves in London society, where they hope to take revenge on the man who ruined their father and drove him to suicide. Unfortunately, the very stuffy Marcus Devlin, Marquis of Carrington, happens to catch them cheating his young cousin at cards. In the process of trying to warn Judith off his gullible cousin, Marcus finds himself unwillingly attracted, [...]

    4. I love it! It stands out from all the romances I've read recently. It's a bit dark plot-wise since it's about revenge and at times it seems that the romance part is only secondary to that. But I felt drawn to the revenge plot and also to the conflicts between the hero and the heroine. Their relationship is no bed of roses especially starting as they did. But it makes the story all the more interesting. The end was a bit anticlimactic but still a wonderful read.

    5. Great! Very dark with the two evil characters plotting dark deeds and a guilt-ridden heroine with justified vengeance on her mind. The only problem I had with the characters was the husband who seemed a little one-dimensional. He started out interesting and then flattened out as the story focused on her. At any rate, a good read!

    6. MARQUIS OF CARRINGTON, THE HANDSOME AND SEXY MARCUS DEVLIN, HAD TO MARRIAGE THE SEXY JUDITH DAVENPORT, AFTER DISCOVERING SHE WAS A VIRGIN. HIS PASSIONATE NATURE TOWARDS THIS BEAUTY WAS ASTONISHING. JUDITH WAS FELLING EVERYDAY IN LOVE WITH THE MARQUIS, BUT HAD HER OWN PLANS, TO DESTROY THE ROTTEN GRACEMERE, WHO TRICK AND RUIN HER BELOVED FATHER. HER BROTHER SEBASTIAN WAS HELPING HER AS WELL!!!

    8. I'm pretty sureI read this before. It didn't matter because I was hooked again instantly and kept reading. I love the characters and can't wait to see more of them in the rest of the series.

    9. Every now and then I plunge into this "V" series which isn't a series and greatly enjoy it. This one was about a pair of siblings intent on revenge. Good read.
