    1. I've given this a B at AAR.Scandal and Miss Markham is the second book in Janice Preston’s Beauchamp Betrothals series, and picks up the story of Lord Vernon Beauchamp, the younger brother of Leo, the Duke of Cheriton whose romance was featured in the previous book, Cinderella and the Duke.  Rather like his brother, Vernon meets his match in a most unexpected place and falls in love with a young woman not from his social class; but unlike the previous book, there is less drama and angst a [...]

    2. This is book two in “The Beauchamp Betrothals” the new series by the talented Ms Preston and it is a doozy this time we are getting to know the roguish and charming Vernon, younger brother to Leo Beauchamp from book one. Preston has come out with a real winner with this one and it has definitely become my favourite book out of her work.Vernon is an interesting man and, yes we have met him before in the previous book and he had always come across as a rake, but I see so much more to him that. [...]

    3. Recieved in return for an honest review.Naughtiness 3.5*Another amazing book from Janice I absolutely loved it, had to slow down a lil bit for family reasons but finally finished reading this brilliant book in the early hours of this morning, again got engrossed. I'm a night owl at the moment it seems,I digress. Truly though completely loved it more if you can believe than the last book it had even more in it that kept me engrossed as all good books do.As always I will not give spoilers there is [...]

    4. My ReviewThis is the second book in the Beauchamp series and my second book by Janice. As you will remember we met Leo in the previous book, this time we meet his younger brother Vernon.I had been looking forward to reading this book for a long while, mainly I wanted to see how Janice portrayed Vernon and I can safely say he is just how I could imagine him to be.This is a book I can highly recommend and is turning out to be a great series. I can't go into too much detail of the book, because tha [...]

    5. I can't tell you how much I loved the book, because I feel like I can't even describe that feeling. I just love it! I couldn't read it before. I think I may have read the first few pages a couple of times, but something just got in my way and I could never read it. But now that I have finish it My goodness I need the next one!Scandal and Miss Markham The first time I read that title I was intrigued. "What Scandal?" Was my first thought. Then came: "Is Miss Markham the one with the Scandal? Is it [...]

    6. As reviewed at Roses Are Blue: wp/p3QRh4-EKSince Thea Markham was duped and jilted six years ago, she has sworn off men, and has dedicated herself to managing the family glassware business along with her brother, Daniel. Her former fiancé, Jasper, managed to also scam everyone in her family, swindling her father out of a large sum of money, and then disappearing. The loss of that much cash severely affected the business, and caused her father to suffer a stroke. Since then, she and Daniel have [...]

    7. Scandal And Miss Markham is book #2 of the Beauchamp Brides series of Regency romances. It can be read as part of the series or as a stand-alone novel.Fiery redhead Thea Markham is the daughter of a Worcestershire crystal glass maker. With her father left an invalid after a stroke, Thea and her brother Daniel run the business. But Daniel’s behaviour recently changed and now he’s been missing for five days with no word of his whereabouts. A stranger arrives at Stourwell Court answering a lett [...]

    8. I loved reading the book. I really enjoyed it. When I started reading I couldn't put it down. But I had to put it down for a few day, and all i could do was think about it. I highly recommend it to everyone.

    9. Janice Preston strikes again! Every time I read one of her titles, I am captivated by her characters, plot and lyrical language. Scandal and Miss Markham is lovely from start to finish. I found myself wanting to be the lovely Dorothea Markham, bold and determined in the face of the norms of Regency society. The story was made even more interesting to me as it is set in Worcestershire. Loved the hero, Vernon and indeed everything about the book.

    10. A love story in the tradition of Heyer with a bit of spice on the sideLord Vernon Beachamp is the "spare". He has no need to marry, his brother has healthy adult children and has recently remarried (Leo's story is in book one of The Beauchamp Betrothals).Vernon comes to Dorothea Markham's home in response to a letter written by her brother, Daniel, and sent to his brother, Leo, Duke of Cheriton. When he arrives he finds that Daniel Markham has been missing for several days and Thea is worried ou [...]

    11. Well Vernon was fab, but I'm afraid I am still in love with his brother. What can I say? Great, intriguing story line and characters you can't help but love.
