    1. Thanks to the author for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.A book that starts with the action right away. A murder was committed and Hardy Durkin stumbles on the body while he's out skiing with a company. Hardy gets involved in the mystery and with his razor-sharp mind and inventive ideas he gets close to solving the mystery. Hardy Durkin is a very mysterious person for me as well. It was nice to get to know him in this book. This review was first posted on Bi [...]

    2. Engadine Aerie is the fifth book in the Hardy Durkin Travel Mysteries series, although it works perfectly fine as a standalone novel. Personally, I read it as a standalone novel. Although there were numerous references to events that had clearly occurred in the prior books, it was done in such a way that you were never left with questions of how it related to the current storyline. I do have questions, though, but these are more so questions because I now wish to go and give the prior books in t [...]

    3. Engadine Aerie by Bluette Matthey is the fifth book in the Hardy Durkin travel mystery series. The book is a standalone, thus reading of previous ones in the series isn't necessary. Travel and mystery are two words that I'm terribly fond of, so needless to say, I was engaged throughout.Set in the beautiful Engadine valley of Switzerland, the annual ski marathon has gathered enthusiasts from all over the world. The protagonist, Hardy Durkin, is a ski tour operator who has arrived at St. Moritz to [...]

    4. What a super idea for a book which is a sort of mix of Wish You Were Here and 007 and it worked brilliantly for me.This was my first venture into this series, which I read without any problems as a stand alone book. My only regret is that I want to visit the other destinations and find out what Hardy Durkin got up to in them too. What a super character he is. He is certainly at home rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous but he would fit in with anyone either out with the blokes or someone f [...]

    5. See more of my book reviews on my blog, Literary FlitsI was attracted to Engadine Aerie by the positive reviews of earlier books in the series (this is the fifth Hardy Durkin Travel Mystery) which praised Matthey's detailed portrayals of her locations. Engadine is a perhaps lesser known area of Switzerland, certainly somewhere I have not yet visited, so I was interested especially in this aspect of the story. Engadine does sound stunningly beautiful - as long as one can visit away from Skimarath [...]

    6. When a body is discovered laying in the snow in the Engadine Valley, Hardy Durkin becomes embroiled in the hunt for a murderer. There's a lot going on in this book; a body in the snow, a bombing at the ski-marathon, a terrorist arms deal, an incestuous relationship, poisoning, armed drones firing bullets etc and it's all happening on the ski slopes in Switzerland! Hardy Durkin is a likeable character who, completely by chance, finds himself in the thick of things and agrees to assist the authorit [...]

    7. This is Book Five in the Hardy Durkin Travel Series, Durkin being one of those likeable everyday guys outside of law enforcement who just happens to keep stumbling upon, and solving, crimes and mysteries. In this case, there’s a murder, attempted murder, an attempted terrorist bombing, and a terrorist arms deal. The author provides lots of characters to keep track of. Durkin is an outfitter/trekker who has joined a friend guiding her first ski tour group through a trip to the Engadine Valley of [...]

    8. One comes away from Engadine Aerie with a sense of history and wonderment that permeates Mrs. Matthey's writing. Engadine Aerie is a gripping account involving betrayal, death, and conspiracy. From Pontresina to St. Moritz, Hardy Durkin is once again thrust into the spotlight of international intrigue and murder. Mrs. Matthey's knowledge of the local hot spots and lore creates a a vivid image in the mind of the reader. This book is ideal for anyone who loves traveling or experiencing new places. [...]

    9. There’s nothing better than a really good mystery that also serves as a quasi-travel guide. After reading the latest book in the Hardy Durkin series, I would love to visit Switzerland to see this beautiful country. As for the mystery, it’s believable, the characters are well-developed, and it’s so refreshing to read a novel that isn’t laden with profanity. This is a book you could give to your teenager to read, after you’ve read it yourself of course. Matthey’s descriptive writing st [...]

    10. Intriguing Engadine is in Switzerland, and who knew, it was a great place for a terrorist plot. Matthey spins a great story of a thrilling mystery as Durkin searches for a terrorist. This story has a great plot, and a glorious back drop for the story. The Engadine is the main character, and Durkin is one of the supporting actors. It's a page-turner, and highly recommended read.

    11. 2.5* Rating. Firstly I would like to say a very big thank you to Bluette Matthey for sending me an early arc in exchange for an honest review. I have not read any of the other books in this series, and even though I can see threads from recurring characters the book itself is very self-contained and works as a stand alone as well.To set the scene, we follow our main- Hardy Durkin who 'stumbles' upon another murder mystery. We are set in snowy Switzerland, and we are revolved around a skiing grou [...]

    12. Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!Another great mystery to be solved by Hardy Durkin. This is a very clever take on relationships of so many types. The concepts of brother/sister relationships are turned on their head. Having more than one group working simultaneously makes this tick along faster than you might expect.I enjoyed the relationship of KitCat as it appears to be a very equal partnership in the beginning but ends as anything but. This is such clever crafting [...]
