    1. So far, this has got to be my favorite series by Tracie Peterson. It is fast paced and leaves you wanting for more. It will keep you turing the pages way past midnight for sure!!Mercy has a great adventure waiting ahead of her. I felt like I was on one with her. There were just so many things that were exciting happening that I could hardly keep up!! I'm glad she kept Grace and Hope and their families in the story too!!! I couldn't imagine having that many children to raise!! I enjoyed the India [...]

    2. Why I Choose this Book:I can’t even remember any more. Maybe because I like the name Mercy? (Oh, that’s as bad as judging the book by the cover…. #oops)What I Thought about this Book:People, I’m sorry. It just didn’t work for me. I had been planning on reading the first two books in the series before reading this one, but then after looking into them I felt like the series as a whole might be a little too much of a romantic overload for my tastes, so I went into this one cold.Even thou [...]

    3. Cherished Mercy is the third installment from Tracie Peterson's Heart of the Frontier series. I have not read the others in the series and did not feel lost or feel like I was missing something that had happened in the earlier books. So, I would say it can be read as a stand-alone. I enjoyed Cherished Mercy. I felt like I was transported back in time to the early frontier and experience the struggles and horrors the people went through to live. I thought it was a wonderful story to show the powe [...]

    4. I don't even know how to start this review, this book was probably my favorite out of the entire series! Well, maybe not I really did like the first book but this is still one of the best books in the series!! Just like how the other two books were about Mercy's older sisters, Hope and Grace, this one is about Mercy. Oh my goodness I don't even know where to start because this book was sooooooooooo GOOD!!!!! Okay maybe I'll start with what this book is about. Warning if you have not read the fir [...]

    5. Cherished Mercy is the third book in the "Heart of the Frontier" series by bestselling author Tracie Peterson. (Note I have not read the first two books, but the third is easy to follow on its own.) Although I was a bit put off by the politically correct history depiction and implications as written (specifically American "conquest" of land), I found the story itself endearing. Mercy is an adventurous young woman with a kind heart and a gentle spirit, though at the same time opinionated and outs [...]

    6. For as long as I can remember I have loved western stories. Probably came after my introduction to the Louis L'Amor novels that may have jump started my love of the simple life but also a very difficult and hostile life as well. I have been honored to read all of the novels in Tracie Peterson's Heart of the Frontier series and her final one in the series is Cherished Mercy. Each of the novels have introduced the reader to the Flanagan sisters and the last one is the youngest Mercy. She has been [...]

    7. I came across the first book in the series, Treasured Grace, by chance and I became invested in the lives of the Flanagan Sisters. This book was focused on Mercy, the youngest of the sisters, and it was a very fitting end to the series. Mercy, who was quite young in the first book, has grown up quite a bit since I last saw her (I haven’t yet read the second book in the series so that was quite a while ago). Both her sisters have married and have a family, in fact at the beginning of the book, [...]

    8. About the Book:The Inspiring Conclusion to Tracie Peterson's Heart of the Frontier SeriesMercy Flanagan survived the Whitman Massacre as a child, and now her heart's cry is for peace between the native peoples and the white settlers inhabiting Oregon Territory. Unfortunately, most of the settlers would rather the tribes were removed from the land completely, one way or the other, and tensions are rising. Mercy has grown tired of Oregon City and feels that she has a larger purpose in life, so whe [...]

    9. Cherished Mercy by Tracie Peterson is a delightful Christian historical romance. It is the third book in the Heart Of The Frontier series but can be read as a stand-alone as the previous two books are incorporated in the story. I would recommend reading the previous two books first as they will help in the reader's understanding of character development and why some characters behave as they do.This series has followed three sisters through the real life Whitman Mission massacre (1847) to this n [...]

    10. I love Tracie Peterson and have read many of her novels; I was looking forward to reading “Cherished Mercy”, which is the third and final book in her Heart of the Frontier series. She tackles lots of tough issues including the treatment of natives by the government, murder, rape, racism and adoption. The book begins with Mercy Flanagan receiving a letter from a family friend requesting that she come to her aid as she is having a difficult pregnancy and could use her assistance as a healer, ho [...]

    11. Mercy, the youngest of the Flanagan sisters, survived the Whitman Massacre, as a child. Even though she and her sisters suffered greatly during the massacre, Mercy longs for peace between the native people and white settlers of the Oregon Territory. However, most of the settlers want them gone at all costs. Eletta Browning and her husband became friends with the Flanagan sisters on their journey to the Whitman Mission. She and her husband traveled to Rogue River Valley, to settle the Browning Mi [...]

    12. Cherished Mercy is the final book in the Heart Of The Frontier trilogy by Tracie Peterson, which chronicles the lives of the Flanagan sisters (Grace, Hope, and Mercy) venturing to the Oregon  Territory in the mid-1800s. While the first two books focused on the older two sisters, Grace and Hope, respectively, this third book focuses one Mercy, the youngest of the three.Having survived the Whitman Massacre as a young girl, Mercy has a renewed heart for seeking peace between the white men and the [...]

    13. I’ve been looking forward to the third and final installment of Tracie Peterson’s Heart of the Frontier series after reading the first two books in the series, Treasured Grace and Beloved Hope. The series follows the lives of the three Flanagan sisters, beginning with the historical event of the Cayuse Indian attack on Whitman Mission in present-day Washington State in 1847.Book one tells us about the Flanagan sisters’ trek west, and their experiences in the Whitman massacre. It tells of [...]

    14. About the Book:After surviving the Whitman Massacre as a child, Mercy Flanagan is all grown up with a strong faith and generous spirit. So when family friend, Eletta Browning, who is suffering from a difficult pregnancy asks for Mercy's help, she is more than willing to move to the Rogue River Valley and the Browning Mission to lend a hand. Adam Browning, one of the on-site preachers and brother to the founding missionary, is skeptical, however, that bringing a "city girl" to the mission will do [...]

    15. I have long been a fan of Tracie Peterson’s novels and was quite happy to have the opportunity to review “Cherished Mercy”. As it is the final book in a three book series, I decided to purchase the first two books and actually had a chance to read the series in order. Time constraints have prevented me from writing reviews for the first two thus far but I was blessed to have the background provided by “Treasured Grace” and “Beloved Hope”. It was also fun to learn more of the histor [...]

    16. My Review of “Cherished Mercy” a book by Tracie Peterson published by Bethany HouseI recommend this book to those of you who enjoy reading frontier stories filled with faith, values, adventure, historical fact and romance , for it has all that and more. The setting is in the Oregon Territory in the year 1855.For those of you who know your US History you will know this was a time of much conflict between the US Army and the Native Americans. This book tells the story of Mercy Flanagan who had t [...]

    17. First sentence: "Push, Hope. You have to push," Grace commanded. Mercy Flanagan wiped her sister's forehead as she labored to give birth to her baby. After ten hours of intense pain, Hope had clearly weakened.Premise/plot: Cherished Mercy is the third book in Tracie Peterson's Heart of the Frontier series. Previous books in the series have focused on Grace and Hope, Mercy's two older sisters. In the novel, Mercy follows her heart and goes to help a friend in need even though there is some risk i [...]

    18. Mercy Flanigan was aptly named. Her ability to show mercy to others amazes those around her, but she realizes that when you embrace bitterness and grudges there isn’t room for the things you’d rather embrace. A lesson we can all benefit from. Mercy is the youngest of the three Flanigan sisters, and the main character in this third and final installment of the Heart of the Frontier series. To truly appreciate her story, the reader would greatly benefit from having read the series in sequence. [...]

    19. Thoughts…I love historical fiction. I just really do. I find that Tracie does a great job with her research and I love all the settings she’s chosen to do.I have gotten to know and love all the characters. Each time I read each book I learn to love the characters and continue to read about their journeys. The main guys. I like each and every one of them and each time I think I like the new guy better than the first. It’s probably just because she writes each so well that I think the current [...]

    20. Cherished Mercy by Tracie PetersonMercy Flanagan survived the Whitman Massacre as a child, and now her heart’s cry is for peace between the native peoples and the white settlers inhabiting Oregon Territory. Unfortunately, most of the settlers would rather the tribes were removed from the land completely, one way or the other, and tensions are rising. Mercy has grown tired of –Oregon City and feels that she has a larger purpose in life, so when she learns that family friend Eletta Browning is [...]

    21. Cherished Mercy was book three in the Heart of the Frontier series. It was such a great final book in the series. The series focuses on three sister, Grace, Hope and Mercy, who made their way to the Oregon Territory and all that happened to each of them as they settled. Cherished Mercy focuses on Mercy, the youngest of the sisters. Mercy is content to live at the family farm with her two sisters, their husbands and her slew of nieces and nephews. What sets Mercy apart is her amazing faith in the [...]

    22. Cherished Mercy is the third and final book in the Heart of the Frontier series written by Tracie Peterson. Though out this series we have followed the Flanagan sisters as they made their way to the Oregon Territory. The older two sisters have married and started their families but Mercy has yet to find the man for her. Mercy receives a request from a friend, Eletta, to travel to the Browning Mission in the Rogue River Valley. Eletta is having problems with her pregnancy and has taken to her bed [...]

    23. Be prepared to part with a few tears as you dive into Tracie Peterson's latest book, "Cherished Mercy". Although each of the "Heart of the Frontier" books has delivered up a moving read, I found the final novel in the series to be the most emotionally stirring novel yet, such that I was dashing a few tears from my eyes as I read through the final pages of the book. Themes of forgiveness, love, and new beginnings are woven into the book in a way that is inspiring. Mercy truly lives up to her name [...]

    24. It has been forever since I've written a review or read a book or done anything non-academic. (Actually, that's not true. I do non-academic stuff all the time.) Anywho Cherished Mercy.I've been a fan of this series from the start. I've always been interested in this topic, probably because my cousin Jennifer used to play Indian with us all the time. Cherished Mercy was an incredible climax to this series. The baby of the family finding her one and only, while the rest of the family is busy havin [...]

    25. Cherished Mercy is the final novel in a series by Tracie Peterson about the early pioneers on the Oregon Trail and the historical events such as the Massacre at the Whitman Mission. Mercy is the youngest sister who survived and is now grown. She has been asked to join some missionary friends, the Brownings in a much more primitive area to aid the wife. Eletta, in her pregnancy. The area is in turmoil as the Indians and white settlers are in conflict. Her family encouraged her not to go but she f [...]

    26. This final entry to Tracie Peterson’s Heart of the Frontier trilogy focuses on the youngest of the Flanagan sisters, Mercy, as she journeys to help a family friend through a difficult pregnancy.Having survived being a hostage following the Whitman Massacre when she was twelve, the decision to join Eletta and Isaac Browning at their mission in the Rogue River valley is not made easily. Mercy and her family are justified in their fears as conflicts between whites and the local tribes are escalat [...]

    27. I absolutely adored this series by Tracie Peterson, and she capped it off with a wonderful tale about Mercy, the Flanagan's youngest sister. All three Flanagans lived through the Whitman Massacre, but Mercy lived through another Indian uprising. The missionary friends of the Flanagans, Isaac and Eletta Browning have asked that Mercy come to them to help Eletta with a difficult pregnancy. While she was with the Brownings, many people were taking a vigilante approach to the Indians in the area--th [...]

    28. This last book in the series is fantastic! If you didn't know that this book was part of a series, you could read it and not feel like you've missed a thing. The backstory is beautifully done and sufficient to give added meaning to the choices Mercy has to make. That being said, reading the first two books before this one gives the reader so much more insight into the hardships these sisters have faced and the obstacles they had overcome. It makes the faith we see evident in their lives now so muc [...]

    29. I loved it! I have not read the first two books, Treasured Grace and Beloved Hope, but this book worked very well as a stand-alone book catching me up on necessary facts from the past two books, keeping my attention in this book and making me long to read the other two books. Mercy goes out to the Browning Mission hearing rumors of war but reassured where she was going it was not a problem, not a problem anyway until the militia men hired by the U.S. government expanded the area of war with the [...]

    30. Cherished Mercyby Tracie PetersonBethany HouseBethany House PublishersChristianPub Date 05 Sep 2017I am reviewing a copy of Cherished Mercy through Bethany House Publishers and Netgalley:Mercy Flannigan survived the Whitman Massacre as a child and now she is praying for peace between the white settlers and the Indians in the Oregon territory. Sadly, most of the settlers would rather have the tribes moved all together. Mercy has grown tired of Oregon City and feels she has a greater purpose in li [...]
