    1. As much as I enjoyed the Alpha's Claim series, I was quick to pick up another work by Cain. As I mentioned in my previous reviews, one of Cain's strengths is in world building. Instead of a massive dump of descriptive information right at the beginning, we are spoon fed details as the story progresses. It's just enough to get a clear picture without being so much that it overwhelms you. It's masterfully done--perfect.It's a little bit pnr, a bit sci-fi, some erotica, some horror It's an odd mix, [...]

    2. Because I read the author's prior work (Alpha's Claim, Books 1-3), it is hard not to see the similarities 1) Another tough as nails heroine. 2) Another anti-hero that pursues the heroine, despite her rejection of him. 3) And humans that are also a bit more than human. You also get another1) Unique and fascinating world. 2) Amazingly real and genuine characters. 3) And another story weaved and told in Cain's intricate style. What to expect1) A serial type of series.2) Another dark tragedy. 3) And [...]

    3. Title: SigilAuthor: Addison CainSeries: Irdesi Empire #1Genre: dark biopunk, horrorThemes: bonded/fatedHeat: 3/5Rating: 4/5Reviewer's note: this is the first part of a serial, so, naturally, it ends on a cliffhanger.Saturated in stimulus, panting, pleading for a thing partway between mercy and annihilation, she screamed, "Please", choked on the word, and climaxed so hard the world went black. The main strength of Cain's writing is her ability to form original universes, and that is also the best [...]

    4. Eh it was good, I can see why some people had troubles with this one as there were some things that were disturbing. I’m not sure where the reverse harem aspect comes into play. I may finish this series at some point but I’m moving on to something else for now.

    5. This book is kind of fun and crazy like a wild rollercoaster ride, kind of like The Fifth Element. (view spoiler)[This girl Sigil was tortured and abused by everyone during her childhood and thus she became a monster that eats people, vermin and destroys worlds out of caprice. Super gross!!! (hide spoiler)] It's a very strange book (view spoiler)[She was taken by the rebels to make her hate her brothers and consort that were created in a genetic altering lab as was herself. They forced her to wa [...]

    6. Utter devastation!! WHY????? I keep telling myself that the bitch-queen was setting a trap that badly backfired on her it was some sort of illusion and all will be well in the second or third installmentPLEASE!!!!!!

    7. I enjoyed this read a lot. Very different, but very gritty and captivating. I will read rest of the series.

    8. Sigil will eat you if she so feels like it. (view spoiler)[I swear Cain, don't fuck this one up! Don't do what you did and punish us like last time. k (hide spoiler)]May the Empire go on, may Sigil and her main brothers not fall. Can't "evil" win for once? Go Sovereign! What I really don't like is that Sigil (not a big spoiler) (view spoiler)[shaves her hair off (hide spoiler)] and I couldn't stop thinking that she'd probably be like that for the next two books unless time passes or some futurist [...]

    9. A fun read. It's a nice, novella length story, equipped with quite thorough world building. It gritty and dark, with a strong heroine and hot men in great quantities. It worked well for me as a in between book. Something to read for fun, with lots of action and ?romance well something like that. It looks like it's going to be published in serial format. Definitely gonna read the next one.

    10. I loved this book. The "politics" of it were a bit confusing at first, but it all makes sense later on. I love Sigil/Quinn's character so much, she's a very strong female lead. I'm on the fence about Sovereign and his brothers, but I can't wait for book two to come out!

    11. I freaking love the worlds Addison creates and the characters she puts in them! Please keep them coming. An auto buy author for me.

    12. Maybe it was the high expectations I had of Ms Cain after reading the Alpha's Claim series, but this book didn't leave me as starved and shaken and longing for the next chapters. But that's ok, I like the author and her unique style and will continue to read all her works, regardless.Back to this book: as I am not a native english speaker, I found the flow of the book interrupted in strange expressions that turned the focus away from the storyline. Not only words, but sentence structures seemed [...]

    13. a breath-taking perfect piece of work that portrays drama, adventure, and a different take on romance and emotional as well as physical bonds <3 <3 i truly cannot wait for the next book and many more amazing works to come

    14. Addison. you've done it again!! If you haven't read one of Addison's books, then you haven't had the pleasure of living in these amazing worlds that she creates. I've never seen another author create worlds like Addison does, and this series is definitely no exception. This book is a cross between scifi/horror/thriller/erotica/suspense/romance. It's got a little bit of everything in it. It might seem like like a weird combination but in this book it REALLY works! The story is about a genetically [...]

    15. Review Rating: 5.0 out of 5 stars. Absolutely fantastic new world that I can’t wait to read more of!I received an Advance Reader Copy for Sigil written by Addison Cain and voluntarily reviewed this book. This is the first installment of the Irdesi Empire, and it is a whole new & fantastic world out there.Born to a singular purpose, Sigll was no ordinary human female. She was fashioned to the exact specifications of Sovereign, the Irdesian Emperor under the Program Cataclysm for his own pur [...]

    16. So after reading the Alpha's Claim series, I still had this series unread on my Kindle, so stayed with the author to see how different this would be compared with the one I had just read.Again this is very much a mix of genres - sci fi / dystopian / horror / erotica, but the mix is good and works well with the story. There's a lot to take in at first, as with every new world building at the start, but its not difficult to get to grips with. Sigil aka Quinn is a real badass and I loved her!! Not o [...]

    17. I loved this book that much that upon finishing it I instantly bought book 2 and am now kicking my heels wondering when book 3 will be out.It does contain rape (and in a contemporary romance this is usually a hard limit for me), but this is very much a sci-fi/dystopian /alien book and with two beings so totally at war with each other that it did fit into the story line. You do spend most of the story not sure of many facts - I liked this because it very much puts you in the same place as Quinn/S [...]

    18. I didn't even know what I was looking for when I happened upon this author and her writings. The mix of sci fi and romance was not on my radar when I came across the first chapter years ago. The line "And her heart was quite black" in the first chapter was what sealed my fate in continued support for this then unknown author. Serendipity has me snapping up all of her paid kindle versions in a heartbeat and here's why: Sigil offers vivid worldbuilding in the author's enchanting mastery of visual [...]

    19. WOW! This is my first time reading Addison Cain, but I have the feeling it's not the last. It was so easy to fall into the world Cain created in Sigil. You start by meeting a Herald for the Irdesi Empire on Pax, a far outpost run by a self-styled tyrant queen, but great value in where it's located. Oh and it's pleasure slaves. It's quickly after you meet Quinn. Cain does a masterful job of building the world and characters. She created an entire universe populated by interesting races. She built [...]

    20. Wow - I went into this story blind in the sense both the author and the series were unknowns to me and as I turned the final page my eyes are now wide open and my adrenaline is pumping.Starting with the world building Cain had me hooked, I could visualize the details, the different species - the environment of Pax felt truly alive - The events were just one WTH after another - definitely will keep you suspended and on edge even as you close the book you will be left in a bit of a fog.Definitely [...]

    21. I am not used to reading these types of books, but once it hooked me, I was hooked, I wanted to know more and more about Sigil and Sovereign.Sigil/Quinn was raised by warriors and designed for a specific purpose, but when she gets lied to and treated so poorly, she starts to believe the lies and starts to kill everything in sight. It takes her a long time to meet Que who is the only one that can calm her down and keep her safe from herself. But Sovereign finds her through his trusted brother Ard [...]

    22. A well written story. I like that we are not bombed with dry Info in the beginning but that we get it along with the story. It is a story that is very different from the ones I usually read and that is on the positive side. It was also the first book I have read from Addison Cain but not the last. Sigil is a very strong heroin that goes for her target. She is always in action. Sovereign is bit more complicated but also very likeable and let Sigil have her place and be who she is.A science fiction [...]

    23. Sigil was bred to be a weapon and to kill the members of Project Cataclysm. She has tried her entire life to stay away from them and wants nothing more than for them to leave her alone. She is perfectly happy living as Quinn with her Que, pretending to be his slave and doing her aerial dancing. But Sovereign and his brothers can't leave her alone. She is the only female of their race, and they need her. Addison Cain really likes to torture her characters, and that doesn't change when it comes to [...]

    24. So this is my first Addison Cain book and I don't usually read Syfy/romance books either. But I thought I would get out of my normal and try something new. Sigil is diffidently that. It did take me a bit to get into it just because I again am not big on syfy books so all the extra information about the planet and such is not normal for me. But once I got over that and the story got going I was fine. The Sovereign and Quinn's relationship (if that is what you want to call it) is something not nor [...]

    25. It took me a while to get into this book and to get any kind of understanding of the whos, the whys, and the whats but I found the storyline really intriguing. It's much more science fiction combined with dark romance than I am used to in the scifi romances I have read previously. Quinn/Sigil's story is actually pretty heartbreaking. When you are reading her POV the Irdesi males seem like real villains but the flip side is they really love her and want to help her. I am hooked now and can't wait [...]

    26. Sigil doesn't just fall under sci-fi or romance - there's so much more to it. It does take place on an alien planet, and humans are involved. Secret agendas and machinations abound in this sexy sci-fi romance thriller. It's dark, yet at the same time, it's captivating, steamy and sexy, and the Sovereign and his brothers are a wild bunch, as well as Sigil and the other characters. It draws you in, and you find yourself visualizing the scenes in vivid detail. I loved this blended genre. If you enj [...]

    27. Pleasure slave Quinn and her master Que live on Pax Station, where he sells scrap metal and she dances to supplement his income. But this is all just a cover for Quinn, who's been on the run from the Irdesian Empire for almost a century. Irdesian Emperor Sovereign will never give up until he finds Quinn and it's too late when Quinn realizes that the pursuit is over. Will Quinn be able to escape or will she submit to Sovereign? Addison Cain delivers an intriguing, action-packed, and suspenseful s [...]

    28. Sci-fi erotica? Color me interested! (combined review for both Sigil and its sequel 'Sovereign')That said this book (and it's sequel 'Sovereign') felt all over the place, rushed, and angst-riddled without the benefit of getting to know the characters. I'm not sure if we were supposed to like Sovereign, the antagonist-cum-leading man - maybe? Feel sorry for Sigil and her complicated situation, despite the many things she did to bring it on herself? I'm not sure if there will be a follow-up to the [...]

    29. It's Not Addison's Fault.I couldn't give the book a 5star rating due to my personal tastes in romance fiction. The book is quite well written, edited, and everything else you want in the darker side of romance. I'm one of those people that didn't pay attention to the "buyer beware" label on this bad boy. The story drew me in to the point of wanting to buy the next book in the series, just to see if I get my hearts, flowers, and hea. Kudos to the author. Addison Cain has me looking at a genre I d [...]

    30. “Either you can go to him, or he will come for you” Ummm alrighty then!! Let’s go!So this is a novella, and as a fan of Ms Cain and this newly discovered genre, entirely frustrating that I have to wait for the next installment! But I suppose that’s part of the experience. Waiting for the next book gives me something to froth over!I’m a new fan of this author, only having discovered her a few months back. I also only recently discovered that there’s such a thing as dystopian erotica a [...]
