    1. Love your science fiction to be gritty , intelligent and imaginative? Then this fascinating series is something you should definitely check out. Yes it features a touch of romance but the intricate world and enemies created to this readers mind take front and centre. This review is for book three and I really do believe readers get most from these stories by following the journey in order but I will state that the author does a very good job of adding enough information to bring new readers up t [...]

    2. I had read and thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series - the first book is Angeli and the second 'Traitor', so had no hesitation in requesting to read an ARC of this when it became available. This is a brilliant sequel, tying together so many aspects raised in the first books and adding a further dimension to this epic post apocalyptic saga.In this book, the feisty Sheriff, Claire Lawson, is exploring the area around her town in the buffer zone between the monsters and the human po [...]

    3. Prodigal is book three in this sci-fi series and I will admit I was a little lost at the beginning - but it does settle down. I was lost with the sci-fi terms and the world building. But the simple fact of the book is - bad aliens (dark blob shade creatures) have invaded Earth creating an apocalypse. Humans plus good aliens, called the Shipborn are trying to fight back.“Okay, so, the good aliens. Dr. Sarah is one of them, and you’ll meet her tomorrow. Well, they’re humans—some of them— [...]

    4. How do you just disappear and come back from what the whole world assumed was your death? In a spaceship that’s uncategorized and unidentifiable according to Ship, and with amnesia, of course.Adam Alsing has no idea who he is when he finds himself naked and freezing in the snow when he’s rescued by Claire Lawson, the sheriff of Camp Chanute. Claire recognizes Adam right away—he’s the Chosen One—the one who could have prevented the apocalypse, but instead seemingly helped further advanc [...]

    5. This is my book. I think it took a long time to write! Meankitty would give this book 3 stars for the fact that there IS, at least, a cat in it. I have previously failed to write any cats into the Maelstrom trilogy, so from her, it's a compliment. I guess I'll give her some tuna now.

    6. How do you like your science fiction? Hard, smart and sassy or over way too much, way too soon? Good answer! The first one of course and Jody Wallace’s Prodigal delivers that and more. All of that plus a touch of romance, well, Ms. Wallace had me hooked before Chapter three. I read book three and usually I subscribe to the “readers get most from the story if they read them in the order intended” theory. However, due to a lack of time in my crazy life I could only read the book that Ms. Wal [...]

    7. Prodigal by Jody WallaceMaelstrom Chronicles, #3Release info: September 5, 2016, Entangled Select - OtherworldGenre: Science Fiction RomanceRating: 4 Quills        Heat Level: 1 FlameHe nearly destroyed the world, but with her help, he can save it REVIEW: Okay, so I'm gonna be honest here. I messed up so bad on this once. I had absolutely, positively no clue whatsoever that this was book 3 of a TRILOGY. A sci-fi trilogy. Hard sci-fi, heavy on the sci. That was my fault for not researching [...]

    8. DISCLAIMER: I received an e-Galley of this book (via NetGalley) in exchange for honest review.Adam Alsing has been known to be dead for the last two years, or so people thought. He was the Chosen One. He was meant to save the world, but he failed. But now, he has just been found. Yeah, Prodigal. It's the perfect title. I love Claire Lawson's character. She's badass, a sheriff, and feisty. And then Adam is very sweet, if not naive . . . to an extent. What starts out as a "safe" encounter, becomes [...]

    9.   Romantic Sci-fi at its best!!!     Cover - Beautiful! I would buy without reading the blurb. I would guess a hot male, in a sci-fi story in a dystopian world because of the dilapidated building in the background.  I like the colors and the title and sub-title are also great. In fact, after you read the book, the title become so relevant that it only adds to the story.Plot- It's a bold science fiction story with a romantic sub-plot. The world building by the author is incredible and the [...]

    10. The more I read Sci-Fi romances the more I love them. Honestly, I love a good PNR but something futuristic, SciFi-ish gets my blood pumping. It’s the possibilities that it might happen that gets me every time. In the case with Maelstrom Chronicles, please don’t let it happen!Prodigal is my first venture into this series, which is always a risk when stepping into an established series. So no lying here, I did find myself lost everyone in a while. The author did a good job of bringing the stor [...]

    11. "4 out of 5 stars!! The “Chosen One,” Adam Alsing, returns in the most unexpected way a pod with the remains of shades. He doesn’t remember who he was. He learns that he now has extraordinary powers (ones that no one can account for) so he’s not sure if who he use to be is who he truly is anymore. Nevertheless, even if he isn’t completely the old Adam Alsing, who Adam is now is the man who can help everyone out and actually save the world. But will the mystery of how he came to be, ma [...]

    12. First of all, let me say that I love the way Jody Wallace has ended the Maelstrom Chronicles. The thing is, each of the three books, Angeli, Traitor and Prodigal, has a unique flavor. Each book stands on it’s own. And each is a really good read! Prodigal loudly tells it’s own epic story while quietly pulling together all the pieces from the series. When I say loudly, I mean, not subtle. The story starts out with Adam Alsing walking naked out of a strange pod. Naked as Eve’s Adam to use a bi [...]

    13. I never really thought of myself as much of a science fiction fan, but lately it seems like that's all I've been reading. I have to say, I'm really enjoying it. I like the fantastical situations, characters, and environments; every book is an escape from real life, but science fiction jogs my imagination a little more.Prodigal plops us right into the middle of a chaotic post-apocalyptic town. Things probably wouldn't be that bad, except that monsters known as shades were killing people, daemons [...]

    15. Claire Lawson, sheriff of the Chanute outpost harboring Earth’s post-apocalyptic survivors, is a warrior, mother, and no-nonsense defender of humanity. She has her hands full with Terran and alien politics, Warlords in rival settlements, and invading entities picking off what’s left of the human population. The last thing she needs is to babysit Earth’s biggest loser, much less succumb to her attraction to him.Hollywood Hot Guy Adam Ansling was tapped to be ‘The Chosen One’ by the Ange [...]

    16. When a mysterious egg like transport is found in the desert, whilst waiting for soul sucking entities to spew from it, the team unexpectedly find a man. And not just any man but the Chosen One, Adam Alsing, himself. He disappeared 2 years prior when he ineptly tried to save the world. Now returned to earth he has no memories of where he has been or who he was before he crawled out of the egg.Claire may be the sheriff but she has a very short fuse and is downright bolshy to all but a few. She had [...]

    17. I was reading two post apocalyptic books this week. This one was much more entertaining than the other one. Fast paced with a twisty plot and a reluctant love affair that got very sexy. I really liked both the hero and the heroine and the fact they both had a definite place in the story. The truth about Adam Alsing was pretty awesome, all things considered, and the climax of the book, the big "showdown," had me on the edge of my seat. My favourite aspect, though, was that I was able to step into [...]

    18. 3.5/5 Stars!Prodigal is less romance and more science fiction, but it packs one heck of a punch.Everyone thought Adam, The Chosen One, was dead. For two years, he was gone without a trace. Then, suddenly he reappears-same body, different guy. Before he died, he failed to complete one job and now all of humanity is at risk. Oops. Along with Claire a human sheriff and Ship, the AI, well ship, they go on a mission to savewell, everyone. This book was great. It had action, adventure, danger, double-c [...]

    19. Science fiction romance. I'm a sucker for a character with amnesia, especially where it gives the character motivation to change. Adam Alsing is a very different man than the Hollywood playboy who disappeared three years before (in book one) and was presumed dead. Claire Lawson, as a grumpy sheriff during the alien apocalypse, made for a strong heroine. Lots of action, some humour, and cameos from the other couples in the series. (Ship is still my favorite)Quibble: While most things were resolve [...]
