    1. Why Dagny's middle name is Vivien.I read this back in 1999.It was interesting to learn more about her. She really wasn't that great a person (what?!). Her two stand out qualities were her beauty and her manic depression. But what a dynamo!Comes off as a bit cold and she must have been exhausting to live with (thus answering the eternal question: why did Olivier leave her for Joan Plowright).Bit of a crappy mom, but mesmerizing on screen (see That Hamilton Woman). Just the kind of complexity you' [...]

    2. Great book about vivien leigh. I love Gone with the Wind its one of my favourite films. Her life is so interesting and interesting to know she did not get along well with leslie howard (who played ashley). Her battle with bipolar disorder is briefly recorded although not in much detail. Worth a read. Alexandra walker's biography about her is also very good and more readily available than this book.

    3. An in-depth biography of perhaps my country's greatest actress, who appeared more on stage than on screen. Triumphant and tragic, her most difficult part was that of her own life, enduring a long struggle against mental illness and tuberculosis, which eventually claimed her.

    4. Spectacular and in depth Vickers goes into quite a bit of detail about her relationships, movies, and upbringing.

    5. One of the best biographies available on Vivien, filled with correspondences which are invaluable to our better understanding of her.
