    1. A fun and quirky collection of 24 short stories ranging from broken hearts and murdered dogs to staying in a house haunted my Norman Mailer. 3. Straight away, the cover grabbed me by its teeth, and the title had me curious. I mostly read novel-length fiction, but, ah, I do love a short story for the tight, poignant punch it can pack. Very engaging, clever prose with a dry and often dark humor, quirky characters, and some lovely figurative language that made me stop and re-read for the sheer pleasure of words. An enjoyable and pensive read by a distinct new voice.
