    1. How to Abduct a Highland Lord by Karen Hawkins: A fun 4.5-5 star read that is a wonderful dose of highland loveWhat a fun read! I hate writing descriptions into my reviews becauseI'm lazy haha. However, what I will tell you is that this was a great book for me to read. However, One has to be in the right mindset. There were some problems with this book, the characters are not OVERLY likable and the situation created here borders on the ridiculous in its own right. When you think of great highlan [...]

    2. "How to abduct a Highland Lord" is the story of Jack and Fiona. The blurb was the reason I chose this book, but how was I to know that the despicable, drunk lout escaping married women's bed in the prologue would be the hero?!Fiona is a Maclean, a clan cursed with controlling weather unless they can do one good deed. When her brother Cameron dies because of a feud between Macleans and Kincaids, she decides to take the matters into her own hand and marry Jack; the wastrel and who was her first lov [...]

    3. 3.50 Stars - Historical/Highland/Scottish RomanceShe took his freedom He'll steal her heartThis one is a pick me upper feel good read with full of witty banters and amusing characters made for reading on a less than perfect afternoon or whenever you are feeling tedious and in need of a light read. [image error]The plot though is very much predictable and familiar but in case you are looking for a well-written fluffy read starring a silver tongued Scottish hero of a husband and a plucky heroine [...]

    4. 2.5There's nothing here you haven't seen before if you've read any historical romance. It's still entertaining, though. The two protagonists have a history, they get married because it will stop the feud between the two families. The story is a stew of a love story with a bit of humour and a decent dose of angst thrown in, alleged paranormal abilities, and suspense. It's a lot. Suspend your disbelief, because (view spoiler)[why else would you root for someone who kidnapped another person to marry [...]

    5. How to Abduct a Highland Lord is about a family feud, a curse, and the two people caught in it. Fiona MacLean's family has been cursed as long as she can remember. The moods of her and her brother can change the weather when they are upset or angry. When she was young she fell in love with a young man named Jack Kincaid but the romance ended badly for both of them. It was a long time ago but now Fiona needs Jack's help. Fiona and her brothers believe someone from Jack's family murdered one of Fi [...]

    6. I really enjoyed this book. It is the first in the MacLean Curse Series. The heroine kidnapped the drunken hero and married him to stop a fued. He is not thrilled when he sobers up and finds himself married. They had a short relationship 15 years earlier and the passion is still there. The main theme of the book was freedom. He valued his freedom above all else. He liked to go out at night "carousing" (as she calls it) so the heroine decides to give him a dose of his own medicine and decides to [...]

    7. My first Karen Hawkins read and I am so glad!! Loved the book. From the moment I started reading until, almost the end, it was perfect. I absolutely loved the adjustment after their marriage, their quarrel, their fight to gain control. Fiona, (I wonder, why she had to have this name. I mean, it just brings Shrek to my mind and having a green heroine it just not my thing, you know! alas what can a mere reader do?) with her feisty temper, her awesome curse and her courage made me applaud her. She [...]

    8. Black Jack Kincaid and Fiona MacLean are the main characters. Though Jack is a scoundrel and a bit naughty, he is a very likable scoundrel. I love a curse, especially when it's presented with humor, and most especially when it comes with four strapping Scotsmen who are very protective of their only sister, Fiona. Fiona decides to marry Black Jack Kincaid to keep her brothers from exacting retribution for the death of her youngest brother. This one is a pick me upper feel good read with full of wi [...]

    9. It's hardly the type of wedding Fiona MacLean dreamed of. No family, no guests, just a groom who's been dragged -- literally -- to the altar. But if marriage to Black Jack Kincaid, the handsome wastrel she'd sworn never to see again, will avert a bloody war between their clans, so be it. Surely she can share his bed without losing her heart.Known throughout Scotland and London as a wild rogue, Jack is accustomed to waking in dire situations, butrried? Long ago, he and Fiona reveled in a youthful [...]

    10. My goodness! This was a refreshing read! I bought the 4th and 5th books first in the MacLean series but I don't like reading series in a different sequence so I really had to wait for this book. It was really worth the wait!I'm really uncomfortable with the name Fiona just because I have an ogre in my head. Anyway, I fell in love with another Jack! Goodness, this book is very witty. You'll love the sharp retorts they exchange. Fiona is one challenging Scot. You'll also love her brothers!About th [...]

    11. Karen Hawkins delights fans of Scottish Romance once again in this first of a new series about the highland MacLean Family.Black Jack Kincaid had his roguish heart broken years ago when the beautiful green-eyed Fiona MacLean changed her mind on his offer of marriage. To stop a feud between the Kincaid’s and MacLean’s, after her brother Callum is killed in a bar fight Fiona and her henchman Hamish kidnap Jack after he falls from his horse. He is drunk and unconscious when they get him to the [...]

    12. Fiona MacLean is determined to save her family from a bloody clan war with the Kincaids. She kidnaps and marries Black Jack Kincaid a man she loved 15 years ago, hoping that if they have a child it will unite the 2 familys. After a night of drink and debauchery, the unsuspecting rogue is stunned to wake up married to the woman that jilted him years ago. Even though he still desires her, Jack swears he will not change his life now he is wed and is determined to carry on drinking, gambling and car [...]

    13. I had been looking forward reading more about the MacLeans ever since I read Much Ado about Marriage. This didn't disappoint.Fiona is one of the feistiest romance heroine I have read since reading the previous story with her ancestor Fia. Fiona does have one up on Fia since she is part of the famous or infamous MacLean Curse. That means that when her emotions are running high it affects the weather. Jack is one one those alpha males who doesn't want to give up life as they knew before they got m [...]

    15. Even though it wasn't love and lust at first sight for me with this book, I ended up enjoying it. It tells the story of the only girl of the Maclean family, and the rich yet careless Lord she ambushes to marry her -that's right :)Fiona Maclean and Jack Kincaid once had a passionate affair but somehow thing didn't work out and they were separated, both feeling bitter. And now it's years later and Fiona is desperate to bind herself to Jack Kincaid, whether he likes it or not. Because you see, Macl [...]

    16. I picked up this book because of the fun and cute cover that grabbed my eye and then when I read the plot, it made me chuckle: a spitfire heroine who abducts the hero and ties him up to force him to marry her! That's quite an unusual way for a romance novel! Usually it is always the heroine who is forced to marry, so it was interesting to see that Karen Hawkins took an unique spin on this storyline and I was intrigued to see how she would pull it off. But what a disappointment this book was! It [...]

    17. I did not read the books in order and you really do not need to in order to follow the story, but it is helpful in the later books because they do reference characters. This book had humor and was a fun light read. Black Jack Kincaid and Fiona MacLean are the main characters. Though Jack is a scoundrel and a bit naughty, he is a very likable scoundrel. Fiona is witty, smart and independent. They are charming together and they have instant chemistry. Years earlier Jack and Fiona had a affair and [...]

    18. How to abduct a Highlander was an entertaining read. It was also a really quick read, so quick I read it in just a few hours. I thought the idea of a bride taking control of her family was great. I always like to read about strong women. I also like reading books where family is key, and I liked how Fiona's brothers where there for her (not always in the best way but they tried) and wanted to make sure she was happy. Jack was a great hero, the ultimate carouser that realizes that sometimes freed [...]

    19. This was a cute but somewhat mediocre romance. So why did I give it 4*? I love a curse, especially when it's presented with humor, and most especially when it comes with four strapping Scotsmen who are very protective of their only sister, Fiona.Picture a rainstorm coming at you out of the clear blue sky - literally! Or maybe it's a hailstorm - Gregor's anger is so cold he brings on hail instead of just plain pouring-down rain like the others. Picture 'Black' Jack Kincaid thundering down a dark [...]

    20. This was the first book I've read by KHwhat a fun romp! The MacLean family is cursedwhen they feel STRONG emotions the weather goes nuts.To break the curse the entire generation has to do a good deedFiona decides to marry Black Jack Kincaid to keep her brothers from exacting retribution for the death of her youngest brother.Jack likes his vices: drinking, gamblingd wenching. The H/h had had a fling many years previously and she was going to marry him, until she found out about his mistress. That w [...]

    21. This book is even better the second time. I read this book years ago and after reading another book in the series decided to read it again. It is full of laughter. Especially if you can imagine having 4 huge Scottish brothers to protect you. I love how they can control the weather and when she is mad it rains and smells like lilac's. I think my favorite part is in the beginning of the book where she is convincing the priest to marry her and the past-out drunk on the floor. the drunk of the floor [...]

    22. Some funny moments but very light on details and either both characters must be in their 30s (although there's no mention of the heroine being an over the hills spinster and she behaves rather in a rather immature manner) or she lost her virginity to him as a 5 year old as they were young lovers 15 years prior.

    23. Another enjoyable and readable Highland laird romance by a new author. I love th highlands of Scotland and this was an interesting and well written book.

    24. I like the curse in this book unlike other books I have read ,, the curse is when someone from the family lose his\her temper the weather will change (rain, hail, storm etc) LOL

    25. Fiona MacLean kidnaps her soon-to-be-husband Jack Kincaid, who isn't husband material, to prevent bloodshed between their kin. Her brother are angry because one of them are dead and Kincaid family is at fault. Also if Fiona and her brothers does as good deed then their curse will be lifted. MacLean family are spelled by White Which and they affect the weather with their emotions.

    26. Orjinal Adı How to Abduct a Highland Lord olan Artık Benimsin'in puanı 5/3,91 Benim puanım 5/4 Epsilon Yazarın yeni serisine başlamış oluyor.

    28. The cover of this book was a bit misleading. The title is How to Abduct aHighland Lordbut the gentleman in question was quite English for all intents and purposes. The book took place in London, not the Highlands and while the cover shows the heroine sporting a kilt/dress, she was very English herself. I went into this book hoping for a Scottish romance and was disappointed because I was looking for something different. Also, there was a lot of modern day slang used that took away from the histo [...]

    29. This was a lighthearted, feel good read.I loved Fiona from the first, she was strong willed and passionate. Her plan was ridiculous and morally uncomfortable, but it was more amusing than anything else. Jack's initial behavior (view spoiler)[(manhandling Fiona when he found they were married, intentionally saying hurtful things, leaving her alone after their first time etc) (hide spoiler)] didn't endear me to him at all, so I guess that made it easier for me to ignore the moral issues with forci [...]

    30. The story had a lot of funny moments, but overall, it was not a fabulous book. The story is that there are two warring clans in Scotland; the Macleans and the Kincaids. When a barfight turns ugly and one of the Maclean sons is killed, Fiona Maclean, the only sister, takes matters into her own hand by abducting her former flame, "Black" Jack Kincaid, heir to the Kincaid clan. A lot of humor throughout this book made it a good read. For instance, not every book features and unconscious groom who g [...]
