    1. Hidden in Plain Sight is apparently NOT going to be the last book in this series. I was afraid of that. That might sound odd coming from someone, who for the most part, enjoyed the series, but I just feel like I won't be able to keep reading this series without losing interest. The first two books were very compelling and the Amish felt somewhat sinister in the way they dealt with things. I liked that a lot about the first couple of books. Now that Serenity has gotten to know and understand them [...]

    2. Decent novelI enjoyed this story immensely albeit done aspects were a bit unrealistic. For instance, the premise that a small town sheriff be asked to help on a cold case committed in another state is difficult to believe. However, once you get past these small inconsistencies, the book is both heart warning and charming for a wide variety of audiences. I love this series, but as in the previous book, this book characterizes Serenity as being suspicious to a fault. In all though, I think it was [...]

    3. And now I'm saying goodbye to another set of characters whom I've grown to love. Serenity is drawn toward a cold case the FBI has asked her to help solve. Some of the details of this case involve three Amish boys who were working on a construction crew fifteen years ago. Tracking down these three stories shakes Serenity again. She and Daniel are taking their relationship to the next level but this case offers some frightening moments for the couple. These are four well done books - adventure, su [...]

    4. So, I've read 4 books in this series and I'm done. They were okay and they sparked my curiosity in the Amish so I did some research. That's always a good thing because I love my own little research projects. I live in Pennsylvania and thru research I realized that what I thought were the occasional group of Amish were in fact probably more sightings of Mennonites instead. This series was entertaining enough and quick to read. I just wasn't that impressed with the main character, Serenity. I am s [...]

    5. BACK OF THE BOOK BLURB(copied from )Some Amish communities aren't so cozy. When a cold case heats up, Serenity won't stop until she discovers the truth. In this installment of the bestselling Serenity's Plain Secrets' series. Serenity must work with US marshals to uncover the truth behind a shockingly brutal fifteen-year-cold murder.Desperate for answers, Serenity finds herself in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where she unravels secrets that threaten to tear her and Daniel apart. But digging up [...]

    6. “Hidden in Plain Sight” is the 4th book in the Serenity’s Plain Secrets series by Karen Ann Hopkins. Serenity Adams is the sheriff in Stone Mill, Pennsylvania. Amish communities are supposed to be placid and peaceful. But in Stone Mill, U.S. Marshals have re-opened a cold case murder. There are more secrets in this community than Serenity can unravel as quickly as she’d like.Who killed Buddy Prowes? He was found shot and bludgeoned in the woods surrounding his ex-wife’s house some fift [...]

    7. Interesting story set in Indiana Amish countryHaving lived many years near a large Amish settlement in Indiana, I was intrigued by the story when I read the description of this book. The mystery isn't complicated, and there is violence in this book. The editing isn't the best as there are missing words frequently, but that wasn't too distracting. The main character, Serenity, goes back and forth between being a strong no nonsense sheriff and a bundle of emotions. The FBI men are competent most o [...]

    8. I give this only 3 starso many characters. The plot twists kept me interested. Before the last page, the author Karen Hopkins starts her next book. The adventures of Serenity, the sheriff, continue. She lives a complicated lifeIn my opinion , more complicated than it needs to be. There is a lot here about the Amish, in fact. of it is about the Amish lifestyle. You'll learn here, if you didn't already know, that the Amish are human and being human they make mistakes , are tempted and give inhave [...]

    9. Different culture, but people are peopleTook a bit of time to get into the story, but by the middle I couldn't put it down. I liked that Serenity had a history with the Amish that wasn't all good or all bad. The culture is different, but people are the same - they love, they hate, they love their children and want the best for them, they make mistakes and try to hide them. Looking forward to reading some more in the series

    10. Another win for Serenity and Ms. HopkinsSerenity again faces the challenge of a murder in the Amish communityis time a 15 year old cold case. Is it possible Daniel is involved? One of the best things about this series is the characters. All the names and relationships can get a bit confusing but the people seem real and the situations plausible.

    11. Super Fantastic What a great and well written story!! It kept me riveted to each and every page until the end. A good mystery that I truly enjoyed. Things happen in the Amish world that is hushed and goes hidden for years. Great strong characters both English and Amish. Just loved this book and highly recommend to an older age.

    12. HmmmI rarely leave a book without finishing it. I got to 50% but just couldn't go on. I wasn't able to force myself to be interested. This is not my usual genre so maybe that is the reason. But when I get those precious moments to immerse myself in a book, it defeats the purpose if the book is a chore to read. Just not for me.

    13. Serenity Does It AGAINThis. Is as close to a cozy mystery as you can get and not be one. This is the second Serenity I have read and I Will end up reading them all. Highly recommend them

    14. Cold case mysteryA who done it production with a female sheriff searching for clues to a killer! Case solved in its entirety! Heroine 's intended needs fleshing out a bit. Maybe in the next book? Want to read more, did not see the ending coming.

    15. InterestingI loved the story, it really pulls you in. You get a real feel of the characters. I really liked the contrast between the two worlds. Even down to the love hate relationship with Serenity.

    16. All'inizio mi è piaciuto un po' meno dei precedenti, ma alla fine si è ripreso, anche se mi ha lasciato un po' col magone Solito lancio "appetitoso" per il capitolo successivo: questo sembra interessante.

    17. Great book. Love the insight into other cultures.Love how things come together. The characters are well fleshed out and believable. Great read you will want to finish in one sitting.

    18. Quick read I like this book because the plot played out quickly; I didn't realize it was the third book in the series-- enough was mentioned so as I don't feel the need to read the first two books in the series.

    19. A little faithSometimes that's all you need other times it takes so much more. As it does in this case of an old closed cold case. The murder hadn't been solved 15 years ago yet one US Marshal yet searching until the day he died.

    20. Karen Hopkins books are always interesting I love the mysteries Sheriff Serenity always gets involved in, and I love her fiancé Daniel. Can't wait for them to tie the knot and start a family, but there's always a new case on the horizon. It keeps me wanting more!

    21. Hidden in Plain SightA very interesting read which explained a lot about the Amish culture while telling the story of an unsolved murder from the past.

    22. Great mysteryKept your interest with all the surprises. Respect was shown for the Amish even though their beliefs are so different.

    23. Enlightening The author included information about a group of people who I had not read about before. The suspense kept me until the end.

    24. Same, yet differentIt kept me guessing. Ended with hints of #5. I'll be disappointed when I've finished the series. I'll see in just a few minutes.

    25. Easy read. Better than previous book tho the romantic aspects still off. Lots of characters. Interesting insights, probably relatively accurate, into Amish life.

    26. A book I couldn't put down.I was gripped by the intrigue of this mystery and loved the insight of Amish life.Well written. I hope to read more by the author.

    27. An Amish mystery This novel is well written and Hard to put down. The setting in an Amish community adds mystery to the story of a brutal murder. I recommend this anyone.

    28. OkA bit disappointed, an OK read but not as good as previous books in this seriesill I look forward to reading the next one
