    1. I know something of South Africa during the 1960's, during the apartheid era and I find this book true to life. It is well researched and the political situation is accurate. It would be easy to dislike the heroine, Georgina van Wyk, she is a passive racist, content to enjoy a privileged life at the expense of others. However, she is saved by being intelligent and confrontational as she takes on those she thinks are guilty of her husband's murder. She escapes to London and uses her considerable [...]
