    1. This fairly short review of the life and career of Mikhail Kutuzov concentrates mostly on Austerlitz and the Russian campaign as would be expected. Austerlitz was a disaster for Russia and Austria--mainly because the Emperors Alexander and Francis would not listen to Kutuzov according to Parkinson. In fact, Alexander hated Kutuzov although I was never quite sure exactly why, however, in the 1812 crisis Alexander again turned turned to a 'true' Russian as opposed to 'suspect' Russians of foreign [...]
