    1. To Save a Sinner was a good book. Both the heroine and the hero were strong characters. Lucas was sent away to Boston due to being accused of murdering another man with one punch during a fight. He is called back home to England by his brother and meets the heroine at a ball when she goes into the garden to find her sister. Though her sister is considered the beauty and never lets the heroine forget it, they seem to have a decent relationship. The heroine is not considered ugly, just not as pret [...]

    2. This book is currently on the kindle free list and after reading a few reviews I decided," why not?" I think the major problem some may find with this read is the pre marital sex. It is slightly descriptive without being overly done and the h, Helena, has no inhibitions. It was troublesome that the two never thought about a possible child being conceived but for me that became over shadowed by the love I found in the couple.Lucas had never met a woman like Helena she is has no filter. Her questi [...]

    3. Lucas the wronged and Helena the sleuth.I loved both MCs. Lucas is a bitter man after accidentally killing a man in a duel when he was younger, and being forced into exile by his father. But underneath all the hardened cynicism and slutty behavior, is a world weary man with a heart of gold. Helena is an intelligent wallflower who happens to overhear two men plotting to kill Lucas to cover up the fact that the man Lucas supposedly killed was actually murdered by one of them. But who are they? She [...]

    4. I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed reading this book! So much so, that I will be reading the second of the series - 'A Curse of the Heart'. 'To Save A Sinner' was well-written, and the overall tone and flavor of the story appeared to be historically accurate as well. I liked the male protagonist Lucas, as he proved to be more than just a pretty face, and I liked the heroine Helena even more, with her straightforward manner, bordering on blunt. While she stuck to the dictates of society - more o [...]

    5. I fell in love with Lucas Dempsey! A definite page turner that I struggled to put down. If you like historical romance you will love this book.

    6. I found the characters well developed and likeable. I liked their romance and was on the edge of my seat waiting to see where it would lead. I do agree with some reviewers that Miss Clee could have made a couple more attempts on the hero’s life to add a little more excitement. But honestly, I didn't even realize there was just the one until I was reading other reviews. I wasn't bored at all. Helena did spend a lot of time unchaperoned which is hard to believe. She is out till at least 10pm one [...]

    8. Awesome love storyThis was a really good book. There was just enough sexual tension through the whole book so that it didn’t get boring waiting for a sex scene that comes out of nowhere, so that was nice. However, I was a little confused with this story. It wasn’t a religious book, although I thought it was until I read some of the reviews. (It really needs a different name, IMO.) BUT this was one of the best LOVE stories I’ve ever read. The tenderness between Lucas and Helena was so sweet [...]

    9. Better than expectedA truly spunky, but not annoying heroine combined with a falsely-accused-of-murder hero interacting in a reasonably believable plot make for good, light reading. I really liked the calm, steady cleverness of Helena who never gave way to fits of pique or allowed herself to be duped by attempts to discredit her or Lucas. She is a woman on a mission and I liked that she maintained her focus on 'saving' Lucas. In short, there were no tedious, contrived misunderstandings to muddy [...]

    10. What a breath of fresh air! When so many romance novels rely on misunderstanding and misinterpretation on the characters' parts to create conflict we are presented with a couple whose whole relationship is hinged on there being trust and mutual understanding. Which is something every relationship is typically needing to be real and lasting. Also very well written. Except for the usage of the term 'coupling' I have no complaints. I saw the next book coming as soon as Gabriel was introduced. I was [...]

    11. Just wonderful! I loved it. I ended up reading it in just one sitting. It was so well written. The pacing was great, I couldn't wait to find out what would be happening next. The cherry on top was the wonderful characters! I loved Lucas and Helena. I also loved many of the supporting cast of characters. Even the not so nice characters were well written and entertaining whether they were evil or not. This was the first book I have read by Adele Clee, and it will not be my last.

    14. To save sinner was an amazingly good book!It had just the right amount of love, romance, and adventure to keep me reading it . It was. page turner, and I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend it to all lovers of romance novels.

    15. AwesomeI really enjoyed this book. The was the first time I have read her work. I can't wait for book two. I recommend this book to all.

    16. Three starsOverall, I did Enjoy reading the book. Main female character is quite the hoot for that era and being female.

    17. ***eBook available for free on *** Four years ago he, was accused of murder, judged by his father, and exiled to America. Now Lucas Dempsey is back, on his brother's request, but he has no intention of playing nice. If the ton is intent on judging him, he's more than willing to provide many different things they can sneer upon. Though his line is apparently, inexplicably to him, drawn at ruining respectable young ladies. Especially a lady like Miss Helen Ecclestone, who appears to see through hi [...]

    18. The Dragon and the Wood NymphThis was my first book by Adele Clee, and I'm really glad I picked it up. I'm always happy to find a new Regency romance author!Helena Ecclestone is attending yet another boring society ball with her younger sister when the attendees are surprised by the arrival of Lucas Dempsey. Lucas is the younger brother of a viscount and was exiled from England four years ago for causing the death of a peer during a fight. He wasn't officially charged with murder, but society ha [...]

    19. Helena is a great character.  Although she is not deemed by society as beautiful she has never let this demean her in any way, in fact, she finds it almost comical when she is looked over for dancing in favour of her sister.  She spends most of her time reading and has gained a great deal of knowledge from this pursuit, which has also helped her to look beyond physical features and gain a persons true worth from their character.Lucas Dempsey has a typical 'man-done-wrong' arrogance but he too [...]

    20. I really liked the first 3/4 of this book. Characters were interesting and the plot kept me engaged. I could see how they fell in love with each other and I liked that it wasn't all about their appearances. He liked how she looked but he loved the fact that she understood and trusted him. However, the book became draggy towards the end. I dislike when a problem arises out of nowhere and it is obvious it was just introduced to keep the story going but it adds nothing to the plot and you know it w [...]

    22. Perfect historical read. It's hard to find a good historical that uses modern English but keeps with the era they are trying portray. Adele Clee does that seamlessly. I LOVED THIS BOOK. I found myself turning the page and looking time I was that engrossed in the story. Helena is a women who speaks her mind, much to the dismay of her overbearing mother. She is also cunning and logical. I think that's the thing that I loved most about her. She doesn't let emotions out way logic. She is the one that [...]

    23. I haven't read a book I enjoyed this much in several months. I was hooked after reading the first couple of chapters and couldn't wait for the hero and heroine to fall in love. The hero is the handsome younger son of a viscount who was exiled to America for four years for a crime he didn't commit. He returns to London at the request of his older brother and finds himself intrigued by the frankness and honesty of a plain Jane whom he sees as a wood nymph. Our heroine accidentally overhears a murd [...]

    24. Miss Helena Ecclestone made it her quest To Save a Sinner when she met Lucas Dempsey by accident in the garden at one of the balls of the ton. She is a tiny woman with plain brown hair and silver gray eyes and a wit and humor that no other woman in Lucas's past has taken his fancy. After overhearing two gentlemen plotting to kill Lucas and admitting that he did not murder Lord Banbury four years ago, she sets out to help Lucas prove his innocence. She only heard the voices of the two men, so the [...]

    25. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💋💋💋This is one of my favourites of Adele’s . Lucas and Helena are the perfect couple. Lucas is a rogue, a man who in the eyes of family ,friends and the rest of society is guilty of murder , he To ,is convinced he killed the husband of a past flame .He's Just returned from Boston , where he was sent by his father . Now he must enter society again and try to regain what he lost , respect.Helena is a strong , feisty , outspoken woman , she says it like it i [...]

    26. I like the darkness in Lucas' character, and the purity of Helena's trust and love in him. The rest of the story about saving him is a bit forced, but overall, the story is good. I didn't like the resolution of the mystery about who caused all the problems, an unknown character, but then again, this is a romance novel, not a mystery. I didn't like Helena's mother or sister, and not much was addressed there, but her father was part of a surprising plot twist. Good for a quiet afternoon read.

    27. I really enjoyed this book, I fell in love with the heroine from page 1, she was clever, witty and best of all funny, and the hero was everything you could wish for, tall, dark and not as brooding as he would have you believe, but I feel the story dragged on longer than it really needed to and suffered because of it, plus it failed to answer all the questions asked which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 4. That said, it was still a very enjoyable read and I look forward to the next in the series [...]
