    1. A fun and interesting book for hikers and backpackers everywhere. The book is anecdotal in form, describing his adventures and mishaps over thousands of miles of trails. Lichter's tone is genial and pleasant, with a warm sense of humor for all the times things went wrong (of which there were many!). Hikers will both feel a sense of kinship with "Trauma" and learn a little something about both the skills and mindset that carried him across so many miles. I also enjoyed his appreciation for nature [...]

    2. Justin "Trauma" Lichter does not disappoint. After treading millions of footsteps across continents, he has collected an amazing number of scary and death-defying incidents and, even more amazing, as survived them all. His quick anecdotes are engaging throughout. You have to admire his courage, persistence, and determination. Every time he gets to the end of one trail he sets off on a more difficult one. What a guy! What a bunch of tales!

    3. This was a fun collection of shorts. Having thru-hiked myself, I know that many of the best stories don't always fit into a larger narrative about redemption or self-improvement or whatever, they're just good stories -- no need to over-complicate it. This may limit its appeal to a general public audience (they can stick with Wild), but it was right up my alley.
