    1. When I began reading Bad Girls I knew that it was a crime thriller, but when Marnie appeared I feared that it was going to be another variation on a “girl with a dragon tattoo”, so my heart sank. Although this is the second book in a series it quickly became intriguing and compelling on its own merits and I forgot all about that other goth-girl and her tatts! Ms. Heidtman has written a remarkable, fast-moving, character and event driven thriller. I was completely hooked from chapter 2 and ha [...]

    2. I highly recommend Bad Girls to thriller readers.Well-written with some wonderful misdirection I found the second half of the book a real page turner I found hard to put down. The book is told in part by Cal who encouraged his wayward niece to leave Chicago and enroll in Raven college. Racked by guilt when she goes missing on her first night he's determined to find her. He steps up his search when a girl matching his niece's description is found murdered in nearby woods. The indications are the g [...]

    3. I enjoyed this book immensely and couldn’t put it down. I loved the way Marnie thought through her capture logically and was constantly planning her escape. I also like how you were given enough detail to understand the horror of it, but that the author left you to your own imagination, rather than giving every detail. Except, without giving too much away, when the action came I was so engrossed that I actually I winced and closed my eyes – you’ll know when you get to that point. This book [...]

    4. Great mystery This one had me on the edge of my seat the whole time-kept me guessing and rooting for the heros to come through. Entertaining read!

    5. This is one of those that makes you hurt and clench your tablet, I swear I spoke to the screen so often my husband began to worry. Bad Girls made me chuckle, made me worry and made me cheer and root for Marnie, not only a bad girl, but a tough chick.I love how Ms. Heidtman weaves together so many story lines. Short but in depth ones from a hiker in the woods to more pertinent character lines such as Cal and his blossoming romance with Ginger.I loved revisiting Holly House and checking in on Jo, [...]

    7. Bad Girls is a book about a retired insurance investigator, Cal, who has accompanied his niece, Marnie, to her new college. Marnie has a mother who's a train wreck of an alcoholic. She's responded by acting out, which has gotten her in trouble both in school and with the police. Her rock through her stormy life has been her uncle. He's now determined to remove her from the toxic Chicago environment where she's grown up and give her a fresh start on a new life.Marnie is a well-portrayed late teen [...]

    8. Bad Girls is the second book in the Eden Series and it was just as good (if not better) than the first. I had a hard time putting it down. It kept my interest from the first page to the last. You get reacquainted with some of the characters from the first book and learn more about others. The author did a wonderful job showing how Marnie matured during her tragic situation and overcame the adversities she experienced. I would highly recommend.

    9. A blend of genres, Bad Girls is the second book in the Eden Mystery series and though I haven’t read the first, Ms. Heidtman did a great job filling in the blanks. The story is slow at times, but it kept me turning pages until the end. I recommend this well written book.

    10. Coming from a troubled family background, Marnie Becker's future starts looking up when her uncle, former Chicago cop, Cal Becker, offers to pay her through University. The pair move to a new town, but before Marnie has a chance to adapt to her new challenge, she is abducted. Thinking she might've resorted to her old ways and run off, Call isn't too worried, especially as he too has a new life to get to grips with. But when the body of a young woman is found, Cal starts to worry that something s [...]
