    1. This was my first time reading Candice Gilmer. Summer Burns is the first book in her Celestial Springs Salon series. The book revolves around Summer, a widow, and Matthew, a man who severed overseas with her husband. I enjoyed Summer and Matthew. The book was on the sweet side, but that fit with the tone of the story. We got to meet Summer's family, her daughter, and learn more about how her husband died. There were a few times when I teared up right along with Summer. The biggest drawback for m [...]

    2. Cute little love story. I hope to read the other two in the trilogy. Fun to meet and learn more about one of my local authors.

    3. My Review:This book is the first in a new contemporary series and I think I'm going to like this one. Celestial Springs is the name of these three girls' mother. She is a hippie type (I know, I can hear how shocked you are about that after hearing her name.) She owns a beauty salon in Kansas where her three girls work and live with her. The girls are Summer, Autumn, and Winter. This story (if you hadn't guessed from the title of the book) belongs to Summer. Summer married her high school sweethe [...]

    4. 3.5* Enjoyable romance.Summer Burns is the first in the Celestial Springs Salon series and is the story of Summer and Matthew.Summer Bettes is a military widow and lost her husband three years ago. She works in her mothers salon and is trying to save money so that her and her six year old daughter can move out of her mothers house. Matthew Hennessey is a military man and served with Summer's husband, Jake. He promised Jake that he would check on Summer and daughter Emma so he goes to pay his res [...]

    5. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This story is first in a new trilogy series called Celestial Springs Salon. Although the first story features a sister, daughter, and single mother named Summer, who is a military widow, the series centers around a beauty salon set in a military town in Kansas owned by a woman with three daughters, Winter, Summer, and Autumn. The story line of a military widow who finds love again is what drew me to the book.Summer has been a wido [...]

    6. This book is such a fun, quirky, and believable story of love lost and then found. Summer is a military widow with a young daughter. She has just begun to settle into life when a soldier walks into the salon where she works and turns her world upside down. Matthew served with her husband and was with him when he passed away. He promised her husband that he would check in on her and Matthew feels a duty to fulfill that promise. Little does Summer know that Matt had a huge crush on her in high sch [...]

    7. Nice start to the seriesI read this book to prepare for a book club. I enjoyed most of the characters in the book and felt they were well developed. I enjoyed the story of Summer and Matthew and how they came together. This was a quick read, but well developed. I would recommend this book to a friend.
