    1. I heard this novel was selected for the New Diversity Catalogue for teacher/librarians and I totally understand why. Ms. Donaldson transforms you into a world of long ago when boys signed away five years of their lives to join the Hudson Bay Company hundreds of years ago. I was completely intrigued and didn't want to stop reading. There were plenty of twists and turns along the way that took me by surprise - triumphs, yet also tragedies. I'm hooked on Ms. Donaldson's novels.
