    1. 4 stars! Beautiful story of perseverance, acceptance and finding love when you least expect it. Spoken from Lucas and Brooke's POV.After the accident, Brooke is left broken and not just from her physical injuries. Determined to put herself back together she moves from the town she grew up in to work in HR at a hospital in Albany. She does her best to hide her past lingering injuries and quickly befriends Cori, a quirky nurse she met at the gym. (This is where the story dragged just a bit for me [...]

    2. Pleasantly surprised!I have to admit that I wasn't sure about this book in the beginning when I started reading it. It took me a little bit to get invested in the story and I almost stopped reading a few times. But, I continued on and ended up really enjoying the story. The characters were deeper developed than I first thought and I genuinely cared for them in the end. I look forward to more books by Natalie Ann.

    3. Loved it!Have the tissues ready! Great read! Ready for Cori's story. She is a little read headed ball of fire and energy!

    4. I personally love series where each book has a different couple. So I was excited to start this one. In this first book meet Brooke and Lucas. Brooke was involved in an accident almost a year ago that resulted in the death of her boyfriend. Ready to move on with her like she packs up an moves away. Needing to put distance between her and her controlling mother. Brooke is hired at the hospital where Lucas works. Brooke wants no relationship especially with a co- worker. But can Brooke let her pas [...]

    5. Fine.I am fine.t!!First book in series, I enjoyed both the heroine & heroine, as well as all the supporting characters. Brooke (Brooklyn) was a brave, tough woman. Relocation after she is recovering from a bad car accident being pursued by a totally stand-up guy at her new job. Lucas is so patient, honorable & sexy without even trying. He knows there is more to Brooke than what she shows, knows she is hiding things. Brooke never having the life she has dreamed of is sure that Lucas will [...]

    6. Love itI have read trek of these books, and I have loved both of them. The situations they dealt with are realistic and described so well that you could almost see the characters.

    7. This book just didn't do it for me. Didn't even finish it. There was nothing inspiring about it. Nothing that leapt off the page and grabbed my attention. The characters were OK but then again I wasn't invested enough in their stories to keep reading. Two stars for me.

    8. Meh, average romance. A few annoying editing issues, but nothing catastrophic. It wasn’t bad, wasn’t Earth shattering either. Pretty much what you’d expect.

    9. Let me preface this review by saying that I'm no longer willing to read books where the H is/was a manwhore. It's just a personal preference of mine. With a few rare exceptions, an author cannot make the story romantic enough when the H has that kind of past. The story either comes across as too sappy or unrealistic and unconvincing. (view spoiler)["Girls had been throwing themselves at him since high school At six foot three with golden boy looks, having been a jock and brain combined, it seeme [...]

    10. It was an ok read, the story line started out strong but I felt it lacking through out most of the book. Lucas is a strong man who knows what he wants and Brooke tries to come off as a strong character but has too much pain and issues with the past. Part of a series, can be read as a stand alone.

    11. The Road to Recovery is Brooke's story of recovery from an accident that killed her fiance and the cold, controlling mother Brooke could never please. It's a love story, but it is also the story of a young woman who perseveres and heals herself with the love and support of the man she falls in love with and the brother who is everything Brooke wishes she could be. My only complaint is that there were a lot of word errors and typos, which made in hard to read at times.

    12. I loved Lucas and Brooke's story. Lucas's conversation with Dr. Lester in the elevator about what he did Memorial Day weekend was pretty funny. Lucas's patience and playfulness was very endearing which helped Brooke cope with her issues from her past and finally open her heart to love again. Loved Cori, Matt and Lucas's family. Can't wait to ready the rest of the series.

    13. Great beginning to a series.I got this book for free and after reading it I immediately bought the rest in the series. It was a great introduction book full of great characters and an amazing story line. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series.

    14. Loved this story. A true love story between a woman trying to move on past a horrible accident and a sexy lawyer helping her find her way. Characters are very realistic and well developed. Have read all three books by this author and can't wait for more.

    15. I don't really read romance books because they all have a happy ending and because I don't want a reminder of what I don't have lol but this related to me in an unexpected way. I'm glad I read it and I'm sad it's over. It was amazing!!

    16. ExcellentBetter than book 2. Yes I read it out of sequence.but its ok. This is a stand alone book series. But be sure to read them all. This book was more fun with the characters. Laughter, some teary moments, some sad moments and of course Cori moments.

    17. Funny, sweet, real life romanceThis romance story really hit home. It was about real people with real problems and circumstances. No I am not rich but the circumstances were the same. A very good read.

    18. This story it's about the patience of love. Brooke has to have control of her life and it's convinced that love is not for her. Lucas fell in love with her the moment her saw her. He is patiently waiting for her to open up and let him in. Will his patient loving be enough to mend her?

    19. A little slowI would give this 3.5 stars. Had to skip to the middle because it was a very slow start. Good story line. Felt the pairing of Brooke and Lucas was forced, but turned out really sweet. So happy to read more about them in the Road to Redemption book.

    20. Lucas and Brooke great heaThe story of Lucas and Brooke was told in a sweet and lovely tale. Lucas was a strong forgiving alpha male. Brooke was a broken unloved rich girl. This is book one in "road to" series. Can not wait to read the remaining 3 books.

    21. This book was perfectioneer perfection. I can't wait to see what happens with this series. I will purchase ANYTHING Ms. Ann writesriod! denise bailey
