    1. Read the full review here: newberyandbeyond/the-clue-In this book (the fourteenth in the series–oops), Judy and her fiance stumble upon a mystery when a stranger thrusts a bag into Judy’s hands and runs off. The bag appears to contain a blackmail note, leading Judy and Peter (the “young lawyer,” as the author is fond of calling him) to believe there has been a case of mistaken identity. Despite her distinctive red hair, Judy does indeed have a double, and she and her friends must attempt [...]

    2. All of the Judy Bolton books I have read have been good and this is no exception. The story begins with a mix-up involving the ownership of a purse and a mysterious note. Then Judy's brother gets locked in a closet during a funeral and we get a glimpse of Judy's relationship with her brother. Next, a woman with a lovely voice suddenly can no longer sing. Is it a psychological problem or something else?A missing will which will affect the fate of the heroine is vital to the plot and while looking [...]

    3. This is an oldie but VERY goodie that I re-read for a trivia contest. As always, this Judy Bolton Mystery drew me right in. In the wake of Grandma Smeed's funeral, Judy and her friends search the old Smeed homestead in Dry Brook Hollow for Grandma's will. Instead they find a 20 year-old birth announcement torn in half that had slipped between the baseboards behind the sewing cabinet. And so begins the search for a cousin who was never known. And in addition Judy battles with a blackmailing crimi [...]

    4. This one would have gotten four stars, because it was a cute mystery, if it had not been for the chapters on Hypnosis. I personally found that disturbing, and that took off a lot of the enjoyment of the book for me. As always though, I loved seeing the progress of the relationship between Judy and her intended. =)

    5. Fun, easy read. Similar to Nancy Drew stories. Kind of implausible plot- but that's okay. It was written for older children- not adults.

    6. After her grandmother's death, Judy begins sorting out her belongings, but is surprised to find that while mementos are left to various friends and family, nothing seems to be for her. However, the will is missing. While searching for it, she uncovers evidence that she might have a cousin no one knew about, but how can she find her?
