    1. Entrevista con Tosca Lee en españolLet me tell you something:I knew this free ebook will release today, so yesterday I preordered it and then I went to sleep Well, almost. I couldn't wait anymore so today I woke up at 4 a.m. and started reading.AndIf this is how is gonna be, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna love it too.

    2. I haven't read anything by Tosca Lee before, so I figured I'd sample her writing with this novella. My verdict? Absolutely beautiful.I love her words. There's just no two ways about it. So intricately woven together were they, that an exquisite background for The Legend of Sheba was painted. I, for one, simply cannot wait to get my hands on a copy. The story briefly highlights the defining moments in young Ismenis life and how she came to be the wife of the soon-to-be king. Her character was admir [...]

    3. Ismeni is a 52 page story which is a prequel to the full length story of The Legend of Sheba. Ismeni is the mother of the future Queen of Sheba (her given name is also known by other names: Makeda, Bilqis, Bilquis, Bilkis). The various spellings and names of the Queen of Sheba, depend upon which country or nationality of people are referring to her, as well as a familiar name such as a family member or lover called her.Ismeni was born under an austere astrological sign. She is famous for her bea [...]

    4. Christian fiction or just fiction?I felt this story was good with strong characters but with it being an e-short it was confusing and quick. I also am not sure if this is considered a Christian fiction book because it only talks about false gods. The first chapter sample to Sheba seems pretty good but I'm not sure if I will read it.

    5. Despite her beauty, thanks to being born under the shadow of the feared Dog Star, Ismeni prays for a quiet, notoriety-free life. Instead, the girl who craves normalcy and loves a humble stable boy captures the eye of a prince, an honor not to be refused, and against all odds and expectation, despite her broken heart, is elevated beyond her wildest dreams. And when tragedy threatens her firstborn daughter, Ismeni fights with every scrap of strength within her for the child's future, with one pray [...]

    6. QUICK HIT - Many authors can't manage the same level of characterization and depth that Tosca Lee crams into fifty action-packed pages. Don't think of this as a prelude, prologue, or promotional teaser for The Legend of Sheba, treat it like it's a story in and of itself: beautiful, complex, and deep. And, best of all, free!A mysterious beauty, a destiny set in the stars. Born under an inauspicious sign, young Ismeni is feared by her own people. The single thing she prays for: to live an invisibl [...]

    7. I saw an ad here on for the book that this is the "prelude" for, The Legend of Sheba: Rise of a Queen. It looked interesting as I like both biblical and historical fiction, but when I checked out the book itself for purchase I saw that it was pretty expensive, and I wasn't sure about spending that much money on an author unknown to me. Then I noticed that was offering this short "prelude" book for free on Kindle, and a teaser to get you interested in the story. So I went for the free short sto [...]

    8. As I awaited the official release of Tosca Lee's newest masterwork, "The Legend of Sheba", I was thrilled when she snuck in a surprise - a 52-page morsel of prose to appease my cravings and whet my appetite for what was to come. Ismeni sets the scene for Sheba, but could also stand alone as a short story. Fans of historical fiction and Biblical fiction alike will appreciate this glimpse at the life of woman literally born under the wrong stars However, much like Esther, circumstances worked to p [...]

    9. Wonderfully written short story about the mother of the Queen of Sheba.Ismeni was born under an unlucky star. As a result she is often under valued and left alone. Her life suddenly changes when a servant of the prince claims to see more in her than bad luck. But it seems that her unlucky stars continue to work against her when her beauty draws the eyes of the prince himself to her. I really enjoyed this short ebook. And it best of all it was free. This ebook includes the first chapter from the [...]

    10. Find this and other reviews at: flashlightcommentary. Why am I only now discovering Tosca Lee? It's a short, but Ismeni: A Prelude to The Legend of Sheba is absolutely fabulous and I can't for the life of me understand how I've not encountered this author before. The situational drama is believable despite the brevity of the piece and I couldn't help falling in love with Lee's heroine. I admit the plot leans toward the predictable, but the style and language in which it is written is flawlessly a [...]

    11. Tosca Lee chooses words as rich as desert spices, drawing you into her ancient land of swirling sands and shifting loyalties. In only a few pages, Lee will uproot you from your familiar home and send you tumbling into Saba among macabre sacrifices, strange gods, and warring tribes. Somehow, she manages to strap you on a camel and maintain a steady lope, constructing the scenery and characters as you ride. Her beautiful prose and the intrigue of a complex plot kept me flipping pages ravenously un [...]

    12. A romantic prequel to Lee's telling of the Queen of Sheba, revealing her mother had a much more dramatic past than she knew - and quite a lot to do with the setting the stage for the events of the novel.

    13. This is an intriguing short story that perfectly sets the stage for the Tosca's larger work, Sheba. Well worth the 20-30 minutes it will take to read it. Download it now!

    14. Stories told in first person are my least favourite, but THIS was exquisite. Simple and elegant. Thank you. Ms. Lee. I look forward to the book.

    15. This is a prequel to a book about the Queen of Sheba, who visited King Solomon in Israel. It is not very long at all, which is fine, since the eBook was offered free by Christian Book Distributors (CBD).The story follows the tragic life of the beautiful young woman who purportedly gave birth to the Queen of Sheba. She was born under the "dog star," considered an evil omen by members of her pantheistic culture. Ismeni was beautiful, but avoided by most men for fear of the curse associated with he [...]

    16. I love Biblical fiction! When there are writing based on the truth found on God's Word, how can you go wrong as long as the truth is not altered? I, like many others before me, overlooked the wisdom of the Queen of Sheba. I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Ismeni" for it provides a back story into one of the greatest queen's life through knowledge about her mother. "Ismeni" is about a beautiful, young woman that was born under a cursed star and thus was pushed aside by everyone and everything around [...]

    17. I really like Tosca Lee's imaginative writing, even if I am not drawn to all of her subjects. I haven't read all of her books, but Havah was one of my favorites, and I also really enjoyed her Legend of Sheba. I picked this novella up because it was a prequel to Sheba, and I'm glad I did! Well done!

    18. Heartbreakingly beautiful! Whether you're a history buff or a Bible believer, you will want to read this. Full of sadness, it offers great insight into the future of a queen ♡♡♡♡♡

    19. After having read this silly book I know why I don't read romance novels. This book, albeit short, was a waste of time. For example the author has Osmeni, as a young child, admire about her mother, a supposedly strong, forceful woman, the slenderness of her feet Not a very liberated image, and doesn't bode well for a book about a woman who becomes a leader of men.

    20. The cover is absolutely stunningly beautiful, the name is captivating and made me want to read it even though it is an eShort or prelude to the Legend of Sheba. I quickly learned that Ismeni was born at a time that was noted as a "bad omen" but surely became the consort of the soon-to-be king. She was beautiful and wondered if this could be her curse; however Wahabil let her know that she was like a mirror that causes others to see themselves more clearly and feared what lurked deep inside of th [...]

    21. I read Tosca Lee's stories in reverse order, The Legend of Sheba being the first and this prelude the second. Bummer. I think I would have liked it much better if I had not read Legend of Sheba. The writing is good, the characters are set up, but the whole story feels cut short. Legend of Sheba was so rich, vivid, and thoughtful. While I was familiar with the setting already, I had hoped for a little more time spent on Ismeni's story. I think my expectations were too high because Legend of Sheba [...]

    22. And so my prayer was one of gratitude and petition that she might rival the wisdom of kings."Seek wisdom," I whispered to her, "and rise."She didn't desire to be seen. She certainly never aspired to be queen. But the position this stunning woman resigns herself to eventually brings her a daughter of destiny in Ismeni: Prelude to The Legend of Sheba by author Tosca Lee.Wow. Heartwrenching and intriguing in one fell swoop, with an aching kind of beauty to it.Yes, this short read is all the more si [...]

    23. Ismeni is a short prequel to Sheba, by Tosca Lee. In Ismeni we meet the young girl Ismeni, daughter of the King of Sheba. Despite her status she is despised by her people and her father; born under the ill omen of a bad star, her birth is ill timed. As she grows she faces trials and hate from others. Yet despite all of her hardships she becomes a great woman. I am excited to read Sheba to learn more of Ismeni and her life. As always Tosca Lee brings her characters to life with a full spectrum of [...]

    24. Tosca Lee, small as her bibliography may be, remains one of my very favorite authors. Her work never fails to actually amaze me. Even in the mere handful of pages that make up this short story, she paints a vivid, sensuous, and three-dimensional world, inhabited by characters so human they are almost tangible. You can taste the care that went into the shaping of this world, the choosing of each word. Good pacing, startling clarity, perfect choice of just a smattering of images to tell Ismeni's s [...]

    25. Had never heard of this author but found this free prequel to the story of Queen of Sheba. it sounded interesting so I figured why not give it a go. And, I can say without hesitation that I am glad I did.I thoroughly enjoyed every page of it and kept hoping for it to continue. The author has an exquisite way with words that just creates an atmosphere of pure emotions ranging the full gambit. It amazed me how much depth she was able to create in character development in such a short span of pages [...]

    26. Ismeni was a quick read (about 30 minutes) and I found it quite a bit easier than The Legend of Sheba. Perhaps having already read the novel, I had a background idea of who the gods were that they were making sacrifices to and had a bit of knowledge already about Ismeni's story.Tosca Lee quickly creates a bond between the reader and Ismeni. As a young girl, she is ostracized for not other reason than being born under the wrong star. The rest of the story shows her close bond with a friend and th [...]
