    1. Charlie and Travis are back; so are Ma, George, Billy, Greg, and Bacon, as well as some new faces (not all of them human!). These characters felt like old friends! This is Charlie's book. As real life encroaches, Charlie has to grow into the man he's supposed to be. He feels bound but isn't sure what binds him. You can have the shopping and hairdresser, but on the account of loving dick and arse, I'd say [I'm] very gay.Charlie is so convinced Travis will leave him that when the possibility actual [...]

    2. Deep ThoughtsAfter reading this second installment of the Red Dirt Series, I have come to several conclusions. 1) I Do NOT Like Foreshadow-y (that's a technical term) Chapter Titles:Don't title chapters stuff like "Where we fight and bad things happen."It ruins the surprise. Oh wait, yess I did. Because you basically told me that was going to happen. 2) I LOVE Cowboys.Charlie and Travis are SUPER cute and hot together. *Hot as fuck cowboy sample brought to you by none other than Tristan aka Brad [...]

    3. Almost 4.5 Stars!I'm obviously one of the last people to read this series so there's tons of reviews already.Bottom line I love Travis and Charlie hard! But I really wanted to slap Charlie a time or ten! Thank goodness Travis is so awesome! On to book 3!

    5. "This is what it's about, right here. Open desert, flat to the horizon, blue sky, red dirt, and you" I am loving this series. There are 5 reasons I had to give this one 5 stars:~ I think Charlie and Travis are the cutest couple ever. I love their conversations and the way they complement each other, so sweet.~ I love Matilda. You have to read the book to find out who that is.~I love the Australian backdrop and scenery. If someone told me I'd be this into a series about farming, I never would hav [...]

    6. Charlie and Travis are a couple now. They're trying to make it work. Charlie is still struggling with his sexuality in front of everyone and he's doing and saying the wrong things, pushing Travis away. Things are popping up and then there's the black cloud that is suddenly hanging over everyone's head. It's time for Charlie to get his head out of his ass before he loses Travis."I watched him, wanting to touch him so much, so fucking much, but didn’t dare wake him. I wanted to feel his skin, I [...]

    7. This was as sweet as the first one. The characters, the story, the Australian landscape. it was all amazing!I just can't get enough of Charlie and Travis. The story is told again by Charlie's POV, and we can witness his inner war and his concerns about his life, farm, his decision to stay closeted and of course Travis. He knows he's pushing him away and he can't do anything about that. He struggles and he hurts himself and his other half.Although there isn't a Travis perspective, it is clear tha [...]

    8. BR, Wednesday August 20th with Isabel, Eva and Elsbeth! Another journey with Travis and Charlie the beautiful

    9. Outstanding!! The quality of this story is proof, if it were needed, of why Nic Walker is an auto-buy author for me, and has the highest number of 5 star ratings on my bookshelvess, you could say I'm a huge fan!! I'm only sorry that once again the most I can give is 5 stars, and I’ll just say for the record, I'm SO glad that Nic's mojo came back.Yes, I know this is the header from the last book, but I adore the picture!!Not going into too much detail, everyone that read RDH 1 needs to read thi [...]

Loved.CharlieTravis (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)]*Sigh* "When it all boils down to whether Travis should stay or go, maybe the decision won’t be theirs to make."Amazing book, loved Charlie and Travis, loved Australia, loved everything. Made me cry and laugh. I didn't want it to be over! I'm hungry for more. Bring in the book three soon please And on the cold, cold ground by the flickering warmth of the fire, we made love. The way he held me, the way he looked at me, it was the [...]

    11. I don't think anyone can possibly understand how much I love this series. It makes me laugh, and cry, and sigh, and grin like a lunatic. And sometimes - oh, okay, a lot of times - it makes me do all four of these things over the course of a single paragraph. This book truly is my "happy place". I mean I only finished the book 15 minutes ago and already I want to turn my Kindle page to Page 1 and start all over again.Love. Love. Love. LOVE!

    13. I am an N.R. Walker fan! No doubt about that! I love her writing and her characters I love her books! When I've read Red Dirt Heart I fell in love with Travis and Charlie and I fell in love with Australia! That love hasn't diminished quite the contrary! Red Dirt Heart 2 is absolutely perfect to my heart and to my mind! Travis is perfection! He is not only a handsome man, he is also a very young and at the same time mature man. He knows what he wants and he never doubt his feelings he don't hide h [...]

    14. ***5 Stars***"I'm so used to bein' all caught up in my head and used to it just bein' me. Bein' alone, yeah? And then you came along and changed all that, and now I kind of can't live without you."In a series dealing with the same couple, I always worry about the second book. Is it going to be manufactured drama? Will it suffer from the sophomore slump? Is it going to drag on to set up another book? Well, I needn't have worried because there's none of that here! If I really liked the first booke [...]

    15. Ok. It's taking my WHOLE self control to write this review. NOT because this book isn't good - on the contrary. Book 3 is sitting on my kindle WAITING for me and it is very hard not to succumb to the pull and keep my fingers off it.but I will be strong. Yes, I will. Because Charlie and Travis deserve it (and N.R. Walker, too!)I loved these two guys in book 1, but I fell hook-line and sinker for them in book 2. Sigh. Oh Charlie. He is such a lovely guy on the one hand. Remember when Ma wasn't fee [...]

    16. 4-4.5 STARSSix months has passed since Travis came on Charlie’s farm, almost since months since they been together. Charlie still has problems when it comes to his relationship with Travis. He’s not completely out, so he knows he can’t offer everything to Travis. Charlie fears that Travis will leave him one day, he doesn’t want to make Travis regrets his decision to stay. He tells Travis he loved him, but he pushes Travis away every day.“I don’t want to disappoint you. It’s like a [...]

    17. I don't know how this book can be so sweet and un-angsty but still have me blubbering like a baby with a few words. Charlie is such a wonderfully normal character and I love him to bits! These two make me feel so much and I love them!!

    18. I love this story. Maybe more than the first, which I thought would be impossible. I laughed, I sighed, I cried, and I was left with a full heart and a smile on my face.I adore the voices Joel Leslie does in order to bring these characters to life. He uses such emotion, giving such depth and nuance to the story, it's quite simply a treat to listen to! Joel captures every nuance of feeling from Charlie's inner worry to his fear of losing Travis. There's a scene in this that is so charged, so bril [...]

    19. I finally got to read this. Finally! I loved the first book, Red Dirt Heart and I wanted to read the sequel before I'd even finished the book, and I'm pleased to say it didn't let me down. This book is another amazing book from N.R. Walker. I always fall in love with her stories and her characters and they always leave me wanting more.Charlie and Travis are one of my favorite couples of hers. They're just so good together and I love the stubbornness of both men, even if that does cause some issu [...]

    20. Update reread June 2016:Just as good the second time around!***** 5 kangaroo stars *****Original review April 2014:**** 4 Charlie and Travis stars ****This really was a book about them, Charlie and Travis and how their relationship has developed since I last "saw" them. For a lack of better description; they are frikking adorable!!I don't think they would like that description themselves, but I find they totally are. This book is filled to the brim with funny and sweet and well, adorable moments, [...]

    21. I think I actually love this one more than the firstd that's saying something.More wonderful, sweet, low-angst fluffiness. On to the next!(view spoiler)[Seriously, you find this cute?I look at this and see verminbut to each their own! 22. 3.75 stars! "Red dirt heart" book 2 we get to see what happens with Charlie and Travis HEA. In this installment we see them adjusting to being a couple not quite in the open, but at least with the people they are comfortable with. They have their ups and downs, especially for Charlie, his not use to being so open with his feelings, for him it wasn't easy. His doubts for me, where valid especially the way he grew up with his dad. I could understand why he would think he wasn't enough and plus all [...]

    23. NR Walker is one of my favorite authors.Red Dirt Heart 1 was one of my favorite books of the past year.Charlie & Travis hold a special place in my heartd so does Sutton Station. Some of my most trusted other reviewers gave this 5 stars, raving about it.BUTFor some  reason, Red Dirt Heart 2 just didn't work for me.  Or at least, it didn't meet my hopes and expectations. And honestly, I'm not quite sure why.The book picks up after Travis recovers from his knee injury in book 1 and the two o [...]

    24. I honestly thought this book won't be able to be as good as the first one. I mean, I loved Red Dirt Heart #1 so much. It ended in a, what I would call: a solid HFN, and usually, books that comes after a HFN ending, feels like their OK at best, or redundant at worst. I was hugely surprised at how I enjoyed this one, and how it touched me (I even cried a bit, which is a rarity now in a contemporary romance!) So, a big thumbs up from me!

    25. 3,5 realmente, como en la mayoría de ocasiones, una vez que el "cortejo" termina, los libros suelen coger otro tono.Buena continuación de la serie. Travis es adorable y a Charlie (al que he querido dar alguna que otra torta) también.

    26. I enjoyed this book even more than book 1. It begins a bit slowly, as the guys settle into their relationship, sweet and warm. Through Charlie's narrative eyes, Travis seems rather perfect. As events progress, there is conflict and there is possible heartbreak, and Charlie, in particular, doesn't handle it well. A fair bit of the tension is from lack of communication, but Charlie's personality makes it plausible.I was pulled into the story, and cheering for the guys. The resolution was perhaps a [...]

    27. 4.5Stormy skies for our Aussie and Texan on the Sutton Station. I could say that many a time here I wanted to smack Charlie upside his stubborn head because he made a lot of assumptions about Travis and their relationship. He did learn along the way and because it's only been six months since Travis showed up so I cut him some slack. I enjoyed the development of their relationship quite a bit. The men still have wonderful chemistry and if I had a quibble it would be that I would love a Travis PO [...]

    28. Like the first time reading this book, I cried at the end. So, so good!I really love this series and hope the next two books will come out as audio books, too!
