    1. Wow Pepper Pace has given us an amazing ir/ Sci-Fi romance. So superbly written, my imagination was going haywire Couldn't help but think of 'the blob' and 'district 9' at times! Carmella and Bilal were written so marvelously and Raj made it even sweeter, loved the "extended family". A truly wonderful and entertaining read, I'm never disappointed whenever reading any of her stories. The Author's note/ foreword is quite inspiring.

    2. In my opinion, this has to be one of the best Interracial Romance/Sci-Fi novels of the year! Not only was it captivating, but it was highly imaginative & well-written. Simply put, I loved it! The world-building was incredible, so much so that I felt like was actually there with Carmella, Bilal & Raj. Pepper Pace definitely has the goods.Giving this one: 5 spectacular stars!

    3. WOW what an incredible sci-fi romance. I am not a sci-fi reader. But pepper pace as usual was able to capture my imagination with this interspecies romance. I could not put down. The story proves what makes us different brings us together. I cannot wait until add up Book 2

    4. Engaging and enjoyable. Home girl was a little crazy with all these wolves but circumstances allow for a little crazy.

    5. Adaptation is dedicated to the memory of Octavia Butler. I wasn't sure what to make of either the dedication or the book's forward, but as I got into the heart of Adaptation, it all made sense. This book isn't a traditional romance novel (not even in the sci-fi or paranormal sub-genres), but falls into that gray area where genre types collide. Adaptation tells the story of a one very alien species falling in love with a lone human woman. I was surprised by this story because it exists very comfo [...]

    6. I have stopped typing out reviews mainly because it's annoying to me on the ipad (I'm old school and need a keyboard). I try to have enough "shelves" to give books a decent review. Also, usually Pepper Pace is hit or miss for me. Loved, loved, loved Beast. The rest, meh, they were ok. However, I felt this book was different enough it justified my one finger misspellings on the ipad. Here goes: I was reluctant to try this book and it took me a minute to get fully involved, however, I was shocked [...]

    7. This book was great. I honestly took a look at the synopsis and was like, no thank you. Then I thought back to every book I said I wasn't going to read by her and did. Hero's with serious disabilities that she made sexy because she made you look at the man in WOS and not just his disability. In Juicy, she gave me the ghetto girl with the serious attitude and the homeless man and made their romance as beautiful as any other because she showed you the people behind the stereotypes. So I settled in [...]

    8. This was great! Kindof a cliffhanger ending! Hopefully there is a continuation I wanna know what happens in the next 5 years!!Re-Read 9/21:I love this book, Raj, Bilal and Carmella. Sooo excited for the second book, so I did a re-read. Still bomb.

    9. Let me just go ahead and buy her whole collection of books because she just doesn't disappoint. Another great read!

    10. Review originally published at: lomeraniel/audiobookreI was offered a copy of this book in audio format by the narrator in exchange for an honest review. The Centaurians, called 'blobs' by the humans, arrived one day in their Mothership with no bad intentions, just sharing, learning and teaching. Their world was destroyed and they were seeking for a place to live. But ten years after their arrival, a deathly virus wiped out eighty percent of the human population. The remaining humans were taken b [...]

    11. I devoured this book and for good reason. It surprised me and is a much more philosophically and physiologically submersed, intricate story than the genre typically offers. It is a masterclass on world building, and character development that makes you care. It's a story about grief, finding yourself, and love. So, how much will you care? Well, the story revolves around a Alien blob with tentacles and A black woman surviving on a post apocalyptic earth and in the end, my heart was FULL! The auth [...]

    12. When I see the abusive way we treat humans to many animals, being beings who feel and have a degree of conscience I am disappointed. How would aliens treat us if they came to earth with much greater advances and level of consciousness than ours? What would we feel for them?Pepper Pace's book "Adaptation: Book I" has a good ending case. Just as today many of us make animals our company, in this case an alien sees a human being as his equal, in every way. And he fell in love with her. Will we ever c [...]

    13. Was extremely good storyline. At first I didn’t like that the alien was a blob instead of more human looking, but that was rectified by the middle. Cute story with a great sci-if aspect to it! Going on to start book 2!

    14. Another winner Generally I am not a huge fan of science fiction, however, Adaptation is definitely an exception. Pepper Pace continues to amaze me with her talent, imagination and plotting. I look forward to reading the second book in this series.

    15. This was interesting. A sweet story, but I don't think the author was well prepared to write sci-fi. The "scientific" explanations for things that happened were sorta vague and hard to understand and/or picture. I had to force myself to not question anything too hard.

    16. GreatI loved the imagery of this story. The plotline in uts own way was plausible and easy to follow. I can't wait to read the next one!

    17. Wonderful, real story that had me in my feelings from the first chapter! I love complicated love stories and Pepper Pace knows how to deliver! Can't wait for the next story!

    18. What. A. Read. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book like this before! Loved everything about itaracters and their development, plot, setting, everything!

    19. HEHEH.Me likey So this is the first time I've read anything of Science Fiction from Pepper and I tell ya she nailed it :)Ok let's jump into it .right .HAHAHAThe book as a whole is very well written, Pepper did not rush the story and made it into a typical extraterrestrial romance. I mean there is romance but it also had genuine Sci-fic world in it. A lot of character development and loads of background stories to back it all up. Right now let's get down to the charactersCarmella(nice name btw), [...]

    20. I don't know why I understood that the hero of this book was an alien with mental disabilities. It isn't like that at all, believe me. It is really worth the time because it is an amazing world development. The only bone I have to pick with this book is that it has a mayor cliff hanger.

    21. This is a fascinating book, with a great alien H. He is so earnest, has tentacles and a conscience! He is a sweet hero and he tries so hard to right the wrongs done to the h. The h is very strong and very sad because she is grieving the loss of her family and the whole human race. Lots triggers, angst and tentacles and only a HFN. I loved it and will definitely buy the next book.

    22. Ok, this is different even in the syfy genre. It reminds me of jade black. If you have ever read the empresses new clothes (you'll know the reference). I am interested in reading the next book. I love pepper pace's style but this was different. I'm interested in seeing where she goes with this. With that said. This book is about a lone surviver and an alien enamored with the human race. I wanted to give this book two and a half stars. There were many spelling errors and changes in names and ages [...]

    23. I haven't read many books with non humanoid aliens, if any, but this book was definitely interesting. The development between the characters, Bilal and Carmella was different. Carmella went from completely hating the "blobs" to loving two, well they're hybrids, but still. Bilal was an awesome male lead, so caring, giving, and patient. I'm glad they fell in love, although it was kind of inevitable. Anyways, their son Raj is so cute and smart, I hope nothing bad happens to him. Can't wait for the [...]

    24. I love that Ms. Pace is not afraid to branch out and try new things. And boy when she does branch out does she go big! I'm not much into scifi but this book was interesting, well written, and perfectly paced. I would love to see this turned into some sort of movie. PP was able to create a a broken heroine who struggles with day to day life but keeps pushing through. The hero of the novel was thought provoking and flawed but you couldn't help but to love him by the end of the novel. Just a great [...]

    25. I didn't know where this book would take me, but Pepper is such a good writer, I decided to give it a chance. I am glad I did. It was a good book. It was well developed. The characters and plot were developed and in-depth. It wasn't rushed. I appreciate it. The concept of falling for a blob was "yuck" to me. But after reading the novel, I was totally sold on this unique family. I am looking forward to book 2.

    26. I decided to dip into reading a Pepper Pace book after reading lots of brillant reviews but it was this story that captured my attention. I read it in one day, it's now 2 am in the morning but I don't care cus it was that good! Wonderfully written, pulled me in straightaway. I loved that characters, especially one little character! The was sorrow, deep sadness, grit to survive, hope, forgiveness and love the grwatess gift of all. Can't wait for the next book, this is truly a lovely read.

    27. Enjoyed the characters I enjoyed the characters and the love story. This was such a good start to what is sure to be a great series. I felt that the story ended too abruptly and I hate waiting on sequels. However, I really respect this author so I won't remove any ratings points. The storyline and characters are unique and individually compelling. Everything you expect from Pepper Pace.

    28. Different and enjoyableIt took a while for me to read this book after purchasing it. Pepper is one of my favorite authors; however the subject-matter did not appeal to me. I'm glad I gave it a chance. It was interesting, moved at a good clip and I found Bilal to be so interesting and relatable. I wouldn't describe it as a book that I couldn't put down. It held my interest enough that I would purchase book 2.
