    1. This illustrations are beautiful, but this is not as captivating as the sequel. It is a wonderful story of opening up to diverse groups to find new friends, but I kept worrying that the owners of the cottage would come home. The story was a little dis-jointed, but I do encourage you to read the next in the series - so much better.

    2. This is a story of adventure that will please any child who reads it. Unlikely friends mice and a kitten find themselves in some fun adventures. There are ups and downs in life and these friends learn that together they can accomplish anything.

    3. Two mice discover a cat in the house who has been left alone and scared. The three of them begin playing outside when it begins to rain and they meet a frog. The friends spend the rest of the day playing inside and the cat shows the other characters a room full of toys. All of the friends play in the room until they fall asleep curled up next to each other.

    4. This was a difficult book to follow. It's about a kitten getting left behind at a cottage and then being befriended by mice. And there's this weird theatrical frog. And they jump from one activity to another, but there's no real segue between the activities so you're left feeling that you missed something. Very disjointed. Confusing.Illustrations are pretty though.

    5. This is an okay story with very adorable illustrations. The dialogue is pretty flat, but the additon of Euripides the acting frog adds a dramatic flair. Our girls enjoyed watching the story on the Tumblebooks website. (tumblebooks)

    6. This book reminds me of my grandma, since she always read it to me when I was a kid. I love it and if I ever have kids it'll be one of the first books I read to them.

    7. Great art, and a sugary sweet story. Only real criticism is that some of the text didn't seem to match what was going on in the art. Definitely worth a read with the kiddos though.
