    1. Living in a secure bunker designed to withstand a nuclear blast seems a pretty good deal when the Zombie Apocalypse breaks out. But what if the promised five years of food for fifty people turns out to be much less, and there's the same story with fuel and other necessities? Facing a shortage of food, fuel and meds, Vivian and company find themselves planning and executing daring trips into nearby Las Vegas to secure food, fuel and medicine. In the city they find the supplies they are looking fo [...]

    2. 4.5 Trying to Survive StarsShattered World is book two of the Broken World series and Shattered World continues the story.Shattered World picks up where Broken World left off and WHAT A CLIFFY! I’m just glad I didn’t have to wait for this book because let me tell you, I COULDT.WAIT. I read Shattered World in one sitting and I’m so excited that my zombie book continues!I really liked how Broken World was written, I felt like there was a lot of character build up, the author let me get a gli [...]

    3. Another winner!I'm so loving the characters in this! God, how I'm swooning over Axl. Angus, even though he is a grade A asshole is just the perfect comic relief! On to the next!

    4. Definitely not as good as the first one in this series. I was a little disappointed. This one felt all over the place. I thought it was going to get reigned in, but it felt like there was no clear vision on where this one was supposed go. The author still put a lot of effort into the world building, but it wasn't as successful in this book for a few reason. First the repetition. It was painful. The author kept using the same words to describe the same thing. I feel that if you are a writer, you [...]

    5. 4.5 starsI liked this one better than the first book in the series, Broken World, because it had more of the author's own ideas in it and less that were obviously inspired by The Walking Dead. It was interesting to see how different personalities adapt to the new circumstances, all of which I felt was pretty realistic, especially in the way that every day worries still come to the fore - just things like, for instance, heroine Vivian's fear that her beloved Axl will fancy the former movie star w [...]

    6. It's a quick read and a fair representation of the genre, but the writer has some quirks that I just couldn't ignore. All lips are "pursed," and the romantic interest has a mighty twitchy grin, for just two examples. These things occur on almost every page and made me want to either hire the author an editor or slap the one she currently has. I can't read the last of the trilogy due to this, though we are left on quite a cliffhanger by the end of this one.

    7. Oh my god I think I'm addicted to this series . Not a single second of boredom Rushing through the pages to see whats gonna happen next !!! Love love Axl and Vivian !

    8. Lots of zombie gore and black ooze seeping from decaying bodies in this follow up to Mary's "Broken World" series, a story that began almost as a tribute to the original Walking Dead characters but now seems to have taken a life of its own. The story follows Viviane, a 20-year-old former stripper, and Axl, redneck survivor, as they and their group gain refuge in the elitist survival underground bunker, only to discover that its not quite as equipped as it should have been. The characters are fun [...]

    9. Good idea, poor implementation.I'll just hit a couple high points why this book falls short by discussing only the 2 main characters. Lots of spoilers ahead so read at your own discretion.Main female character: Vivian comes across as an idiotic bimbo who looks like a big boobed, blonde barbie doll (at least thats how my mind pictures her). She is clumsy and constantly falls on her ass, losing her weapon if she even manages to have remembered to carry one in the first place. She constantly has to [...]

    10. This review and many others can be found on my blog - Feed Your Fiction AddictionWell, book #2 in this series definitely did not let me down! If anything, I think I loved it even a little bit more than the first book! Shattered World picks up right where Broken World left off, and the gang is rescued and allowed into the shelter – by a movie star! What I LOVED:The zombies. The zombie apocalypse is now in high gear!! Like the synopsis says, the safety of shelter life doesn’t last long. Vivian [...]

    11. Shattered World picks up right where Broken World left off - the crew finally gets to a safe place but problems still arise. This book is full of action and is such a page turner! I couldn't put it down most of the time because I had to read what happens next. There were some moments that I totally didn't see coming at all. But the character interaction is what I love the most about this book. I love the development between Axl and Vivian. And Angus's comments still crack me up (and sometimes gr [...]

    12. A fun addition to the series.Shattered world has more zombie slaying action than the first book, which I like. There wasn't a slow or dull part of the book, YIPPEE no skimming. In the next installment I hope Angus has more of a presence, every time he opens his mouth I laugh.

    13. This is a great book.tense! I've chewed all the skin off the inside of my lip! I'm only giving it 4 stars because it just ENDS right in the middle of a car chase. Really makes me wonder if I want to read the next versionnd of stinky to end a book that way!

    14. A great human story, while surviving the zombie apocalypse.Oh my gosh!! The second book in an amazing series, Shattered World, has everything that Broken World had but more. Our group of survivors is growing. But some of these new group members aren't exactly sane. Will our group of survivors survive this hugely shattered world? How beneficial will the new group members be? Who will be the next group member to get infected and die?

    15. I feel like there was less of a story arc in this book than in the first book. There's lots of action and character development, but it is much less of a stand-alone book and very clearly just part of a series. Or possibly, it reads as just part of a book, I'm not sure. I'm still really enjoying the characters (Though Angus and Axl are always, and likely will always be Merle and Darrell in my head) so I'm going to keep reading.

    16. The novel elaborates more on the dire circumstances of Vivian, our narrator, and the rag-tag group of survivors that she joined up with out of necessity. (At least, that was why she stuck by them at first.) Vivian’s tone is still very conversational, which gives the book the same familiar feeling of being a story told by a friend rather than a novel about a dystopian wasteland filled with zombies. The tone suits the character well (an ex-stripper who was living in Kentucky at the time of the o [...]

    17. Vivian thought it was the end, and then the door to the compound opened and who comes to their rescue? A MOVIE STAR! Thankfully for them someone in the compound was smarter than Mitchell and let them in, but just when they thought things were finally going their way they find out that their haven is little more than an empty shell. Now they have to go out and look for supplies and their only option is Vegas, a city they all know will be crawling with Zombies. While all that craziness is going on [...]

    18. First of all, I don't understand why people keep saying that this book is like TWD!! I don't find that the story is similar, of course there are a couple of cliches but I don't think that they "belong" to the tv show! Once again, Kate delivers another great book. The group is growing, the safe place is not so safe, so our main characters must go to Las Vegas looking for supplies, the zombies are in full motion, giving us more action and over the edge scenes. We are introduced to new characters a [...]

    19. The adventure continues! After reading book one in two days, I immediately downloaded book two and was engrossed again. I was really excited to meet the characters living in the bunker and for the characters to get a chance to breathe and interact more without the constant threat of danger. I was thrilled to see the relationship develop between Vivian and Axl. Their chemistry is awesome, and there are some really steamy scenes in here. I will never look at a sauna the same way again. Vivian cont [...]

    20. Vivian and Axl and company are in a "safe" place, they thought. But it isn't what they expected and they must go out into the zombie filled world and get supplies. So more excitement with the zombies. There are a couple people in the shelter who expect others to do the survival work for them. Vivian is not your average every day woman. She has had a rough life and knows how to fight for her survival. My only complaint is when she gets with Axl, her love, she seems to defer to him in all things, [...]

    21. As a mega fan of The Walking Dead, I was eager to get my hands on something zombie themed while waiting for the new season. The first book in this series blew me away and I was instantly drawn to the quirky characters, especially Vivian, the ex-stripper telling the story. It was easy to get back into the flow where the group was left in the desert, locked out from their hope of survival. There are more zombies in this book and it moves at a faster pace than the first. While at times the concept [...]

    22. Crikey! I swear I want to like this book but I just can't get past the repetitiveness! I get it.e f'n zombies smell bad and ooze black goo. Good God it's in every other paragraph!I hate Vivian. She's stupid. The story line isn't believable. I get it, it's fiction. But just too many stupid things happen. I read one review where the person said they had as much of a chance of being hit by lightning and being eaten by a shark at the same time and they live in Ohio and it was October, as the things [...]

    23. This was an amazing second part to the series. I can't wait fit offset the to be out. I have it set up so I will own it the day it is released. This book and the whole series so far is just one of my favorites ever. It made me laugh and cry and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I am not a patient person so the wait for the next installment is killing me. I finished this book in three days bc it was that good. I felt like I was watching a movie in my head as I was reading. I could pi [...]

    24. This one frustrated me, it had a lot of promise to be good. The main character Vivan turned into a love sick idiot, and in one instance was more concerned about the fact that she wasn't going to be able to have sex with Axl if she died. I definitely wouldn't be worried about sex in the middle of trying to survive. She also was VERY judgmental about every other character but Axl. I got tired of hearing how she thought Hadley was such a bitch before the apocalypse and how Bipolar her feelings were [...]

    25. Book 2 was pretty good. Not the normal 'let down' that a normal book 2 has. The action was pretty non-stop. I feel exhausted for the characters. The story did not progress in the way I was expecting it to - which is a huge plus. I get tired of reading books that I know what's going to happen and find myself just reading to confirm my anticipations. Book 3 is on my Kindle now so I can start it tonight :).(Normally I am an Audio Book reader as I can listed to books while I work, but I've been actu [...]

    26. Audiobook3-1/2 out of 5 stars. I am finally getting why people have a problem with Vivian. The world is ending, she could die any minute, but it's not a good time to tell the guy you love him! And Pot!! Calling her mom trash and then Axle asking if that meant he was trash too which she doesn't answer, when her last job was a stripper. Doesn't she see the dichotomy of that statement? I'm not a fan of the cliffhanger ending. It doesn't make me stop reading a series but it is irritating. So, of cou [...]

    27. number 2 in a series. never ever thought I'd be reading this type of zombie book. throw a love story in with it and it's great. read the first book in a day 2nd book took 2 days now reading 3rd book. BRILLIANT books in my opinion and worth a read. not going to spoil it by saying what the story is about apart from zombies. bad guys. Love and life. Highly recommended even if your not a normal zombie fan. (seen some reviews saying similar to "the walking dead" tv program.

    28. Loving itI'm really getting into these books! This one I finished in a day. I love that they have plenty of action and enough sexually tension and romance to keep you wanting more. Plus, Kate Mary manages to put just enough tease into the books without them feeling seedy. Good zombie apocalypse novel!

    29. 5 stars!Wow I'm impressed! Short review:The writing: Well written! I couldn't put it down! (4,5 stars)The character: I loved them! Well developed, portrayed umm I loved it! (5 stars)The story and plot: Amazing, that's it. Like I said before then, I'm impressed. Great story, well plotted. And full action! Much better than the first book! Romance+Zombies yumm! (5 stars)

    30. Fast paced and a great ride!I have read many zombie series and this one is different. It has a bit of everything, zombies of course, but love, history, survival, tragedy and more. The character development is really really good. I felt my self getting very invested. I have had trouble putting this book down!
