    11. It's a peaceful book to be refered also in stressful times. It's good to remember the joy of breath, the joy of life, the calming effect of being here and now. Additionally one can sense the compassion of the author through the pages. Recommended.

The author Thich Nhat Hanh has introduced the solid meaning of mindfulness through some exercising activities for each chapter. A beautiful reminder of what we can be if we step back from ourselves, recognize the suffering we are inflicting on ourselves and others, breathe and reconcile those thoughts/relationships, and become closer to our true inner self.     24. This is an absolutely brilliant book. I would go so far as to say that not one word is superfluous. This is an essential book for modern living and, is especially relevant in todays times, which are full of noise and chaos. Having and treasuring those moments of silence is very important for clear thinking, building relationships, having a calmer disposition. Very simple to read. Extremely relevant, as I have said. The lessons are timeless.

    25. Hanh is an amazing author with simple teachings. This book has given me the opportunity to practice silence in a way that has changed my life. In the beginning I felt Hanh was repetitive, being that I read his book The art of power prior to Silence, but setting that thought aside I saw how a little sense of repetition had no negative effects on learning a different message. Hanh is great and I’m on to another of his books, Anger.
