    1. This book almost became a dnf but I forced myself to go on to the end since it was so short. There is just so much in this book that is so flat out wrong it is obvious that the author didn't try to learn anything about the groups that are components of the plot.To start, volunteers or people who work at shelters do not try to force other people to take dogs or cats and then proclaim that the pet has been adopted to a good family (especially when the person in question has said unequivocally that [...]

    2. It's been a while since I've read a book that made me want to forgo sleep in order to keep reading, so I was extremely excited to feel that way about Taming a Dark Heart. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Gabby and Colin. They were cute and funny and the sexual tension between them was convincing. I was anxious for the two of them to finally get together and relieved that it didn't take too long for that to happen. This was definitely a five-star book . . . until I reached the halfway mark. W [...]

    3. I'm sorry really hated the characters and thought the story was horrid. From forced adoption of pets to the rest.

    4. Let me start of by saying that I am a sucker for any with cats or dogs in it. I think that they add so much depth and character to any story. This author certainly did not disappoint and gave both the kittens and the dogs big parts in the overall theme.Colin finds a box full of kittens on his door step and tries to do the honorable thing. Take them to the shelter where they can be adopted out. Unfortunately for him Gabriella is working that day and the shelter is full. Okay and she does not beli [...]

    5. This book starts out with Colin meeting Gabby at an animal rescue shelter. Colin tries to drop off some kittens which appeared at his door because he has no time or heart for animals. He soon becomes entangled in Gabby's life as she shows him how to care for the kittens he tried to drop off, plus she adds a slobbering bull dog into the mix as well. The book started out funny, very funny, laugh out embarrassingly funny but about half way through the book took a darker turn. The beginning of this [...]

    6. 4.5 StarsColin shows up at a shelter looking to get rid of 4 kittens that were dropped off on his doorstep, but instead of leaving them there he finds himself taking them home and agreeing to keep them because of the vivacious Gabby. Not only does Gabby manage to get Colin to keep the kittens he was trying to dump onto her overcapicity shelter but she also manages to convince him to adopt a big slobbery bull dog. Considering he's a bit of a germaphobe you can imagine how funny it is to see him i [...]

    8. I received this book in return for an honest review. I was so excited when I started reading this book. I loved the characters and the chemistry the writer created between them. The personality of both main characters was very realistic and believeable. I thoroughly enjoyed the flirting as well. I was pretty sure I knew what direction this book was going until the middle. The book took a whole other turn, but not in a exciting-in-the-edge-of-your-seat way. It was more like "huh?" The beginning o [...]

    9. The author shared her book with me in exchange for a honest review and how happy was I when I finished the book? Ecstatic! I have never read anything by Terry Towers, but I will be reading more of her books in future! I enjoyed the witty banter between the two main characters. Their was an element of danger to the story, that I personally always like, as my other favourite genres are suspense and action. The sexy side of the story was well written, with just enough detail to take my imagination [...]

    10. I was given this story for free in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely liked this book. I enjoyed the both characters and while sub characters were added they did nothing to distract from the story line. I would definitely recommend this book to other readers so why did I not give this book five stars? Not being one for novellas I always come away feeling as if I was cheated. She had a great subject, sassy heroine and a delicious hero. I would have loved to seen more depth and interplay [...]

    11. Reviews all wrongReviews all wrongI'm more annoyed by the reviews than I am by the book. The book was okay, not great but not boring either. I'll tell you what it's not's not dark. I read reviews warning of its dark nature and saying that Gabby was gang raped, saying they were disturbed by all the violence. There is NO sexual violence. There is no gang rape. The H is a CIA agent that investigates human trafficking. That's the dark element. He throws in a little torture to get information but tha [...]

    14. I received an ARC for a honest review. I did enjoy this book however some parts felt very rushed in order to end the story in a decent amount of time.
