    1. Maybe you have to keep your pain and loss to know that you can survive whatever life deals you. Perhaps without putting your pain in its place in your life, you become something of a coward.

    2. The Tawny Man Trilogy by Robin Hobb(Fool's Errand, The Golden Fool, Fool's Fate)Where do I even begin? This year I credit my survival as being partially due to good friends and Robin Hobb's books, and The Tawny Man trilogy was key to my emotional and psychological well-being.FitzChivalry Farseer is by far one of my favourite characters. Life has handed him a raw deal. Every time you think he's at the top of his game, or that things are finally going right for him, the metaphorical rug gets pulle [...]

    3. I got about halfway into the second book, I think, but it was hard to tell because I had the complete trilogy and it gives progress in terms of all three books instead of each one. They just go so redundant and boring. Each book is very long, but they tend to say the same things over and over, and even though this series is supposed to prominently feature the fool, he's not mentioned much at all except early on. There are only so many times I want to real all the painfully detailed descriptions [...]

    4. I am in love with Robin Hobb's writing. Ever since discovering her last year with the Assassin trilogy i have wanted to read more and more. Part of it is in her writing about people who you can like. Of late many authors that i have read create brilliant stories but unlikable characters but here is Robin Hobb- brilliant story, beautiful characterisation. I was a tad annoyed by the way Fitz and Molly ended because for me the story of unrequited love was actually better than this have to have a ha [...]

    5. It was a sweet and enjoyable visit back to one of my favorite series. The protagonist has developed much since his first appearances and Hobb does a wonderful job of imbuing Fitz with all the neuroses of a 1/3rd life crisis. As a character he is very human, foibles and faults abound. A criticism, Hobb falls prey to a too ambitious plot and rushes to gather the treads and tie them neatly. Deus ex machina abounds and in the end too many characters become smiling and treacly caricatures (though tha [...]

    6. Have to review the trilogy because when you're reading them (especially in this format) any time passed between each book blurs. This was a re-read because I was getting too excited for Assassin's Fate this spring and convinced myself to whizz through them again, a slightly surreal week or so with every obligation becoming just a barrier to my finishing these books. If you're a fan and have only read them once, I highly recommend doing so again. When you already know the ending it lets you focus [...]

    7. I bought this almost by accident as I was looking for more Fitz/Fool books as I had run out of the other series. I like Robin Hobb's writing style although I had found it difficult to invest in the Liveship series and the Bingtown Traders hadn't endeared me to any of the charactersBUT.Fitz and the Fool hit the spot. On Kindle this is a massive read and it took me a while to get through as I mostly read on the train commute to work.

    8. Mostly good twee ending I enjoyed this book until the ending which was a bit twee and unlikely. It has made ne want ti read the 'dragon' books again.

    9. A very long journeyAn interesting and engaging road, a bit of a marathon, it will be some time before I am ready to go this way again.

    10. BrilliantAnother great read. Well thought out brilliantly put together. Reading these books has been a pleasure. Five star appeal. Thanks

    11. Every time I'm coming to the end of a book I get the excitement about what I'll read next. Usually a mix of different genres and authors, with the exception of Robin Hobb, her books are always there at the top of my list and it's only through fear of running out of her stories that I don't just jump into the next one straight away! Perfect escapism, books that you'd choose time and time again over PlayStation, or Netflix or just zoning out on the sofa. Characters you genuinely give a shit about [...]

    12. Wooo! Finished it!I really enjoyed this trilogy, probably about as much as the first trilogy. I'm only knocking a star off because there were a lot of times when I'd just kind of had it with a number of the characters. It's possible that there's a maximum amount of angst that I can deal with in a series, and this one was continually flirting with that line. All that being said, it really came together at the end, and I thought the whole thing was more than worth it. Things do get a bit repetitiv [...]

    13. I'be now read the first two trilogies of the Farseer saga and it has been a great ready. The characters are well drawn and Robin Hobbs does an excellent job of creating a complete world for them to move in. I found that each time I had to put the book down I couldn't wait to pick it back up. Normally I read a lot of mysteries and am always trying to figure out who did and what is going to happen next. Here I was reading for the pleasure of being in the Farseer world. Am planning on reading the L [...]

    14. A run of the mill fantasy book. Good read to keep your interest in, but nothing to lose yourself into. I did love the "witted" concept which to me sounded like the inverse of the "daemon soul" concept of the Pullman series. This being the second series set, you do get a lot of info about the previous books. So if you want to avoid any spoilers you should read the first series before you read this. However, this series does stand alone by itself and you don't need to know the back story to follow [...]

    15. It's interesting when you think a trilogy can't be made better by another trilogy and then it is. I loved the first one but this was almost better. It was great to see the characters some years later and so different. The Fool especially was so interesting with all the new powers of the Prophet. The extra generations were also fascinating. Not sure if I was happy with the ending though. Maybe it shouldn't have been "ever after"

    16. A really good adventure well worth the read, but a couple of small reservations:A couple of characters felt like they were introduced for the hell of it - their stories could have been fleshed out or their arcs given to other characters. Also there was a lot of out-of-character bad decision making for plot reasons which broke the suspension of disbelief a couple of times.Still, I really enjoyed it and recommend it

    17. I enjoyed her second trilogy installment in Fitz' life more then the first, overall, but only because the characters already had a pretty solid hold on me. Very, very character and relationship driven books. I can't imagine being able to enjoy these books without having first read the Farseer trilogy. Thoroughly captivating and couldn't put the series down.

    18. Yet more fantastic stories of Fitz and the Fool. Rarely have a series of books made me feel so happy about the people and the stories. I only wish I could read them all over again with fresh eyes and as a stranger to this world. Ah, to be so luckyRobin Hobb you are an amazing and wonderful author. Thank you for these books!

    19. I think my rating of this book would be about a 4.5. Not as good as the Farseer Trilogy (which I would give six stars out of five!), in that the ending seems a bit contrived, a bit like the author was working too hard to finally give Fitz that happy ending. But, once again, Robin Hobb crafts an engaging story with beautiful characters. The Fool is one of my favorite fantasy characters ever!

    20. This trilogy carries on from the Fraser Trilogy. again same amazing storytelling but you really needed to have read the first books before these or the history of the characters will be confusing. I have been completely absorbed and couldn't put them down. Heartbreaking at the end, the writing so good, again tissues needed!

    21. Loved every minute of it. I did feel the third book was plodding along in places, but the trilogy was wonderful. I loved how her other series tied in with this. I'd like to see a book that is just about the Fool himself. He is more interesting to me than most other supporting characters.

    22. 2nd series I couldn't leave aloneSecond trilogy to the Farseer Trilogy. I couldn't the books down. Thoroughly engrossing. Characters are tortured but I think it adds depth to the story.

    23. Wonderful books, thoroughly enjoyable. This trilogy links and completes the previous two trilogies in a most satisfying way. I recommend these books to anyone who enjoys good fantasy grounded in strong settings and rounded characters.
