    1. Laughter through tears - my favorite kind of read. B MacGregor's debut novel is a wonderful, sentimental roller coaster. I love the story-telling technique, how he develops each character, and the twists he puts on the stories we all know and love.

    2. I received this book in exchange for a review. This has no bearing on the review, as always, I will give my honest opinion. I interpreted A Fag For Her Fifties as a tale of reinvention, looking back at your life, what you’ve become and what you want to become. And the deep rooted, soul connection of friendship. The basis of the story is the transformation of Beulah Mae into Charity. A reassessment of life as she knows it, to a life she wants. The catalyst of this change is a news segment about [...]

    3. A 5 Star review from Susan, who read it in one day because she "couldn't put it down!""What a wonderful bedtime story! A tale of a woman coming of age and finding her way to happiness with the help of B and his lovable dog, Mr. Cuddle Bottom. Weaving a wonderful adventure through the trials, tribulations and hilarious adventures of the unlikely trio. Truly a beautifully written and wonderful story, with a lesson or two along the way. Inspiring and entertaining."

    4. This book was a very easy read. It was funny in parts, sad in parts, and engaging all the way through. I found myself connecting with the main character on many levels and rooting for her until the end. There were some parts of the book that were a little far fetched when it came to the dog but I guess it did tie into the bedtime story theme it had going on. Don't let the title of this book fool you. You will be pleasantly surprised!

    5. It is the perfect book for any woman who is finding herself separate from her former life as wife/mother/housekeeper/jack of all trades, master of none. It was the perfect gift for my 50th birthday as I work on changing my focus and giving birth to myself. Thanks for the great read. I would add that's a great book for anyone dealing with such a woman in the midst of that transformation to read.

    6. Beautiful and Fabulous. It is an entertaining reminder of the importance to live our lives, love, and laugh. Well done B.*I received this as a first reads giveaway*

    7. Homosexuals and heterosexuals alike shudder at the word “fag.” It’s a derogatory term meant to belittle homosexuals. Except when you travel to Great Britain, where a “fag” is a cigarette, or a noun or verb associated with an annoying task; nothing rude or inflammatory about that.A word is defined by how we relate to it. So what happens when you turn a definition on its head? You get a book like Brian Magruder’s “A Fag for Her Fifties.”If you have already seen the title in the book [...]
