    1. The first thing I noticed when I got the book was how beautiful the cover is. It just makes you want to open it and discover the story within. The introduction to the book gives parents a great understanding of the history behind the story.     2. I just recently read a book of Native American poetry illustrated by S. D. Nelson & thought his artwork was so beautiful that I wanted to see more of it. This charming tale about mice dancing late at night in an old buffalo skull has wonderful illustrations & is based on an old American Indian cautionary tale recorded by a woman known as Zitkala-Sa.
