    1. I think I would have liked this a lot more if it weren't for the rather smug and self-congratulatory author's note that preceded the story. I kept waiting for it to be as good as promised and consequently was doomed to disappointment.

    2. Read this story years ago, and to this day it remains my all-time favorite erotic tale. I'm thrilled to finally find the collection of this author's work, and I intend to read/re-read it all!

    3. In order to explain why this book didn't work for me, I'll have to give spoilers. (view spoiler)[Dismemberment evidently does not work for me, even when it is bloodless black magic. I am hoping that one day I will be able to look at a dildo again without being squicked. (hide spoiler)]Also, there is very problematic consent.

    4. One of the scariest books I've ever read. Unnerving, hair-raising, hot, and creepy because I currently live in Houston. It's short and only $.99 but I'd have been willing to pay more and not felt ripped off, it's that good.
