    1. First off, I have to say, I love the cover of this book. Of Silk and Fire was full of mystery. As the blurb says, Ella had her memories stolen, and she is determined to get them back. She wakes up on a train not knowing who she is or where she is. As the story plays out, Ella starts forcing her memories to come back to her, except, she’s only getting small glimpses at a time, and the pieces of her memories that she does uncover only leads to more questions than answers.Typically, I’m not a h [...]

    2. I can't remember how or why I picked this up on my kindle but I am glad I did. This is a very different sort of book for me. I don't read a lot of paranormal books and have never read a paranormal novella (with romance elements?). I really enjoyed it. It reminded me of being in college and reading the short stories in my anthology.I don't want to give anything away because this is a story that is best going in knowing as little as possible. Ella wakes up on a train without clear memories. She is [...]

    4. WOW! What a cool, unexpected story!I love Allie's writing, and I picked this one up knowing very little about it. It does NOT disappoint! Paranormal, romance--it kind of reminded me of SAVVYI was so dead tired, and still up at night reading to know what would happen. It's a super, different, cool novella. I LOVED the romance. A must-read, and I hope we get more about Maddock & Ella! :o) <3

    5. This is a quick read, but it's definitely an intense one. It will hook you from the first few pages and won't let go until the last one, drawing you down into an emotional whirlpool.I'm not a fan of paranormal, but I enjoyed reading this book. What I liked about this book: The story. The blurb was very intriguing and I found the plot very interesting and well planned.I liked how the author used the sudden visions that flashed into Ella's mind every now and then to let the reader get a glimpse of [...]

    6. Of Silk and Fire: Ansini, "Two performers. Two Circuses. One love! One dividing secret."The cover to Of Silk and Fire is stunning. Allie Brennan always designs great covers. The origional cover for her other book, Tight Knit, was adorable. The story is shrouded in mystery. Of Silk and Fire is an intriguing and mesmerizing story. Ella wakes up on a train and has very little recollection of her life. It turns out that Ella did not just lose her memories. Her memories were locked away by a mysteriou [...]

    7. Ella Olsen awakens starved to death and dirty on a moving train car.She has no memories of how or when she got there.Something is locked within her mind, a past full of pain. There is a boy who can read her thoughts. As Ella struggles to regain her strength and understand this world around her, the more she tried to remember who she is. Her memories were forgotten for a reason, could remembering ruin everything in her present? This book really isn’t a book; it’s a novella, which Brennan states. [...]

    8. I found this on my Kindle and decided to give it a go. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was soon engrossed. At first, I got a little distracted as the download was a bit weird and instead of speech marks, there were some strange symbols, but after closing it and leaving it overnight before opening it again, it was fine and I flew through the rest of the story. As it was only short, I wasn't expecting too much detail, but Brennan managed to use minimal description that still made me feel as if [...]

    9. I had a hard time with this novella. I think overall it is hard to get a satisfying read out of such a short read but it is especially hard within the realm of paranormal stories. It is difficult to fill in the details of a paranormal world within such a short time frame let alone have character and story development. I understand that the author probably wanted the reader to experience the awe of the world the character lived in at the same time that she regained her abilities and her memories. [...]

    10. Hmm I'm not exactly sure how I felt about this one. Through most of the story, I was completely confused which I guess makes sense since the main character did not have her memories. It was not a long read, which was nice because this was not a story that needed to be drawn out, but at the same time, I would have liked more of Ella and Maddock. We kept being told about how they had loved each other since they were six and how they would speak telepathically to each other from their separate circ [...]

    11. WOW! This novella was unlike anything I've ever read. Completely original, vivid, imaginative, and breathtaking, with beautiful writing. It's hard to say too much about it without spoiling it, but it's definitely worth the read!
