    1. I'm going to start off by mentioning that horror isn't a genre I tend to read. I've seen a few horror films, but find it hard to get into it much because it strikes me as really hard to avoid cliches. I picked this book up because I was familiar with the author through LJ Idol. With that in mind, I did feel like Saito could have done a better job at avoiding some cliches in some of the stories (I followed him in the competition more for his personal non-fiction stories than the horror, since it's [...]

    2. I started reading this book because a friend's boyfriend is the author. I really had no idea what it was about aside from some sort of darkness / suspense / horror. And the book was kinda sorta amazing. I mean the first story just grabs you by the throat to say hello. I was reading along, not sure where the story was going, and then OH MY GOSH! That is what kind of book this is!Some of the stories are awesome and some are downright spine-tingling. I loved it and totally recommend this book for th [...]

    3. This is a really good book of short stories for anyone who loves the horror genre. You won't find happy endings and stories where the good guys always win. The author has a twisted mind and isn't afraid to show it to us in his book You will read things that make you uncomfortable, that will disturb you a bit and if you're a horror fan like me that is what the genre is all about. I don't like a book where things are too convenient for the heroes, you won't find any of that here thankfully. He writ [...]

    4. Honestly, this is probably one of the best collections of short horror stories I've read in a long time. All of the stories were quite diverse and some of the themes were fantastic. Not only were these stories very well written and quite disturbing, I really cared about Saito's characters in a very short span of time (which is definitely not the norm for me when it comes to short stories). Saito even injects a little humor in his dialogue and I found every single tale very entertaining. I HIGHLY [...]

    5. From the Edge of Darkness is a dark, terrifying, and utterly fabulous collection of Horror short stories by a super talented and new-to-me author named Kevin Saito. My complete review is on my website at eReaderPerks. Happy reading! :)

    6. I loved this book. Horror is my favorite genre, and as someone who likes all types and subgenres, I especially liked how the stories in this book dealt with both the paranormal (i.e. vengeful spirits) and real life horrors (i.e. serial killers). I also liked how some of the stories were told from the view of the victim, while others were told from the view of the perpetrator. Really, if I have any complaints, most of them are just nitpicky things. I guess if I do have one real criticism, it's th [...]

    7. It's hard to impress me with short stories. Most of them make me want to go "Huh?" at the end, because there usually isn't a satisfying ending. But this collection of short stories delivers the goods. The stories have beginnings, middles, and endings. Kudos to Kevin Saito! This collection is not for the faint-hearted. If you're easily spooked, don't read these stories right before bedtime. But DO read them. This is a satisfyingly chilling group of stories that kept me reading when I should have [...]

    8. Fantastic read. This first release sets the bar high for Saito and will be I suspect the first of many great reads. Reminiscent of some of King's creepier short stories, none of the offerings in Edge of Darkness will leave you disappointed. A great mix ranging from traditional supernatural tinglers to modern slash and gore - and the occasional nod at the very best urban legends out there.Great imagery (sometimes too great.)and a well rounded, easy-to-read style make for an engrossing couple of h [...]

    9. This is the first time I've read any of Kevin's work and I must say I was impressed. I am officially horror obsessed and it takes a lot to scare or horrify me but, even when I kinda knew where the stories were going, Kevin managed to keep my interest. This is a well written, well thought out collection and should be added to every horror fans bookshelf. My favourite tales were Tending the Flock, Legacy & Sentinel because of the way they lead me down a road I was familiar with but in a new and [...]

    10. Kevin Saito knows how to scare. He certainly did that to me with his collection of short stories FROM THE EDGE OF DARKNESS--I couldn't finish the book. I'm hopeful that I can pick it up at another time, because Saito's writing is compelling and his characters are intriguing. If you're a horror fan, don't miss this twisted collection. Over the years, I've become too feeble-hearted to mix too much fright into my reading. I think if I mete out the stories over time, I'll make it to the end.

    11. I applaud Kevin Saito on his debut collection of horror shorts. He reveals the dark side of both humanity and the world at large as he builds up each tale with suspense. More than one of his stories had my heart racing for half an hour straight. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a terrific thrill!

    12. I had no expectations when I started reading, and I am glad I didn't because they all would have been blown away. This book is amazing. It is a collection of 14 unique short stories. Every story has its own voice and its own plot and twists. The stories are completely shocking and that makes this book a real page turner. I highly recommend everyone check it out!

    13. Kevin Saito's "From The Edge of Darkness" is an amazing book, if you like chills and goosebumps! His stories flowed so smoothly that I couldn't stop reading until I finished the whole book. I had shivers run down my spine and goosebumps erupt several times in broad daylight! Keep up the great work!

    14. I feel awful that I didn't get to this sooner! This book ranks among my favorites. Great collection of horror shorts that I highly recommend reading!
