    1. Reviewed by Joan Stradling for TeensReadTooThe Shadow Lord has been driven back across the mountains, but he's not finished with Deltora. He's taken prisoners from across the land and enslaved them. Worse, he plans to use them in a diabolical plot to take over Deltora. Lief and his friends must prevent Deltora from falling into the Shadow Lord's hands. The only way to stop the Shadow Lord is the fabled Pirran Pipe. But the pieces of the pipe have been split among the three Pirran tribes and Lief [...]

    2. Actual Rating: 3.5/5I'm really not sure how to rate this book. On one hand, I did enjoy it. It's easy to read with lots of adventure, a little magic, crazy creatures and interesting characters. On the other hand, I found myself losing focus quite frequently even though I wasn't bored reading itI do wonder if that has to do with the fact that I did not realize until I had already started the book(s) that it is a series off of a series. One of the downfalls of buying at a used bookstore (does anyo [...]

    3. Truly I don't really know what to say about Deltora Quest 2 but that I loved it. Much of the events have blurred together in my mind with Deltora Quest 1 and 3, but nonetheless I know I had a damn good time reading it.One thing that stands out clearer than most in my memories of Deltora Quest 2 is the developing relationship between Jasmine and Lief. Bear in mind, this is a reread so I know how the series ends — and now, adult me is far more appreciative than 9-year-old me of Rodda's writing a [...]

    4. We return back to the world of 'Deltora' and in the blink of an eye, you are off again with 'Lief', 'Jasmine', 'Kree', 'Filli' and 'Barda' on another impossible quest to bring the enslaved people of Deltora home from the 'Shadowlands'. The story is well put together with a wonderful balance of fun and fear. Using old remembered stories and a roughly drawn map, the hero's take on the task of finding an underground world, full of estranged peoples & hideous beasts (who pretty much just want so [...]

    5. I enjoyed this one even more than the first Deltora Quest series. There was a lot more world building and it was just another adventure that took so many twists and turns. The plot was fantastically complex for a middle grade series but I loved how everything all came together in the end. Individual ratings: Cavern of The Fear - 5/5 The Isle of Illusion - 5/5 The Shadowlands - 5/5 Overall series rating: 5/5 I am absolutely loving being in this world and I can't wait to see what's coming up in th [...]

    7. The second book of the trilogy. This book did take me longer to read as I was not as hooked into it as the first, but Emily Rodda still hasn't failed to amaze me. The further I got into the book the better it got. I prefer the first book to this one, but that might just be me personally. Either way, this book was filled with heart stopping moments and gut turning twists.EDIT (SPOILERS): now that I think about it, I've changed the rating to 3 stars instead of 4. Only because I had but one issue w [...]

    8. Deltora’s ShadowlandsBy, Emily RoddaReview by, Casey BeasleyI read Deltora’s Shadowlands; it was a pretty good book. The book is about this group of people called Aurons have to get the third piece of the pirran pipe. They have to get the pipe so they can go to the shadowlands and free the slaves. When they get there they meet a girl that they follow, at the end it turns out the girl was a ghost. They had to use the pirran pipe to save them and escape with the slaves. I gave this review beca [...]

    9. Lief, Barda and Jasmine have restored the Belt of Deltora and driven the evil Shadow Lord and his minions from the land, but now they must embark on a new quest to rescue the prisoners of the Shadow Lord. Meanwhile Lief's life is in danger even within the palace and Jasmine's feelings for the sister she never knew she had, and for Lief, who evidently is looking for a Toran bride, are complicating matters. This is another enjoyable read by Emily Rodda for 8-14 year olds, although a bit more linea [...]

    10. Many Deltorans and people of the Deltora Tribes had been taken to Shadowland and was slaved. People of Deltora asked their new king, Lief, to save the slaved Deltorans but there is a major problem. The Belt of Deltora, the only thing that protects Deltora from the invasion of Shadowlord, will only shines for the rightful heir of Adin. So if Lied went to Shadowland and gets killed, Deltora would then be invaded by Shadowlord once more. Jasmine had found a crystal in the palace. Inside the crystal [...]

    12. My dear friend who originally set up my addiction to Deltora was not too hot on this particular trilogy. Frankly, I loved it. Ms. Rodda took a chance with a rather traditional fantasy/sci-fi approach and it worked with a fresh Deltora twist. But that's all in the end. The majority of this trilogy is a mission to save the enslaved of the contintent, the means a journey through underground kingdoms of a forgotten people who had their own nasty run-in with the Enemy. As with DQ, the stories are ful [...]

    13. Hi, this is a GREAT series. But you must read all the Deltora Books in the following order. The Deltora Quest 1 Series: 1-The Forests of Silence 2-The Lake of Tears 3-City of the Rats 4-The Shifting Sands 5-Dread Mountain 6-The Maze of the Beast 7-The Valley of the Lost 8-Return to DelThe Deltora Quest 2 Series (Deltora Shadowlands): 1-Cavern of the Fear 2-The Isle of Illusion 3-The ShadowlandsThe Deltora Quest 3 Series (Dragons of Deltora): 1-Dragon's Nest 2-Shadowgate 3-Isle of the Dead 4-Siste [...]

    14. It's amazing how talented Rodda is, keeping every single aspect and thing in her novels original. This story is spellbinding, epic and fast-paced. Deltora Quest has been my favourite book series since primary school and has inspired me for many years. It's still outstanding to read the series again when you're older and feeling the great memories flood back into your mind. This is not just for children, but for everyone to enjoy.Highly recommended.

    15. My daughter and I read this book together because she really loved the other Deltora books that she had read before. This series didn't really hold her attention like the others that she had read and we had a hard time getting through it. She loved the characters, it was the story itself that just didn't engage her.I had the same problem with the story as she did. Great characters, just wasn't pulled into the story.

    16. Like the Quest series, this one had danger at every turnbut it was a bit predictable. There were bad creatures, then a bad society, and Lief and Barda and Jasmine had to convince the bad society to be good, and they had to win against some big monster. It's still fun and fascinating, though. The best part was the distrust between Jasmine and Lief and how we got to see old characters in new roles.

    17. My kids and I have loved this series and was sad to see it end. Imagine how excited we were to see that there was another little series out, picking up where the other one left off! We really enjoyed the adventures this fun trio went on once again. The creativity of the situations they find themselves in is so much fun! We're going to be really sad when there's nothing else to read. :)

    18. This is the second series of Deltora Quest, and it is just as amazing. Read my review for the previous series, Deltora Quest 1 for more. Anyway, these series' are pretty much what got me into reading when my grade 3 teacher gave them to me, and I still read them now even though I'm way older. Really good!

    19. This trilogy is much darker and more straightforward quest fantasy than the first series. There were not very many clever riddles, only in the first book. There were many misunderstandings due to lack of communication between the main characters. Luckily, everything gets straightened out in the end and Deltora is saved! Setting the spoiler tab, but we all knew that, didn't we?

    20. These books show the darker side of Deltora. The companions travel togethor to help complete the Pirran Pipe. Great fantasy adventure. Awesome way to continue a series by making a new one. Recommended for pre-teens, young adults, or older.

    21. If you love dragons, magic, kings and queens, all the usual things you find in fantasy books, you will love these books. They are absolutly fantastic. I wasnt sure if I would like them at first but this and the other Deltora series are wonderful. Seriously consider reading these books!!!! :)

    22. I think I love the opal light/water. Is it possible to fall in love with a conjured image? Also, Wild Ones are sad. And scary. Sad scaries.

    23. A great second series to the Deltora world. I am just reread it for the first time in 10 years and was still able to love the story!

    24. The first book took me a while to get into but books 2 and 3 are fantastic love this series. Can't wait to read the third and final series of deltora quest now
