    1. This is an older style romance written back when it was acceptable for a virginal woman to hop into bed with a bossy unlikable alpha man she's just met because he looks sexy.Don't ask me for names, you don't need 'em. I read this on audio and they have already escaped my mind. He's an arrogant movie producer. She works as a stunt woman. From the moment he sees her he decides she's a starlet who will slut herself out to get a plum role. He always gets what he wants and he wants her bad . . .She's [...]

    2. She's an experienced film stunt woman who knows her way through Hollywood yet does not understand that painkillers mixed with alcohol can get you high? lmao. She needs to lunch with Jacqueline Susan.

    3. “Capture the Rainbow” is the story of Joel and Kendra.Joel, the movie director spots Kendra, the stuntwomen at a movie party- and unknown to him, she’s under the influence of analgesics and alcohol- he sets out to seduce her thinking of her as a loose, aspiring actress.Soon the hymen god speaks for itself, and while he’s shocked but wants to continue their affair as his mistress, she refuses as she needs a job to support her sick brother. The rest of the story is her working as his stunt [...]

    4. This so far has been my least favorite Iris Johansen Novel. The book seems to be a book about sex. Kendra Michaels is a Hollywood Stunt double who loves her work but must also do stunts in order to pay her brothers medical bills. She proceeds to take on dangerous stunts because they pay more. After a one night stand she finds out that the one night stand is gong to be her future employer. From the very first night Joel Damon knows that he loves her and does everything he can to keep her safe. I [...]

    5. Doritos. Nachos. Cheetos. Pizza. 80's hairstyles. Pick up lines. This book. All things that are cheesy! I may have actually thrown up in my mouth repeatedly while reading this book. I did finish it though, hence the two stars. As a side note, if my husband ever called me his "rainbow lady", I would punch him in the throat.

    6. If your bored to tears and Have nothing else to read. This is a good book to pass the time. But once done reading. You might have rather been bored. This book isnt really about anything intresting. A strange love story. A stunt woman falls for this rich guy whom is completly controlling and spoiled. The end. There I saved you time.

    7. Stuntwoman Kendra Michaels is hoping for a future high paying but also high risk job, which would also help in her brothers medical bills due to a accident that he had on a stunt job. When she meets Director Joel Damon, there is sparks that fly between them at a party, and they spend a sensational night together, but then later anger fireworks happen, and Kendra leaved Joel and steals his car since he has no phone for her to call a cab, in a isolated area. So after Kendra finished her current jo [...]

    8. Blah. a low two stars.Points against:1. Rich and incredibly successful director who has starlets constantly throwing themselves at him sees a moderately pretty girl and instantly falls in love.2. She's a stunt woman from a family of stunt people. She's in debt because her brother broke his back in a car jump stunt gone wrong.3. She's injured in a stunt so is taking pain-killers and drinking champagne. She's never taken painkillers before? She's never read a warning label?4. So while loopy on dru [...]

    9. I read this a while back. was an okay read, but I had a hard time relating to the hero and heroine. I didn't feel invested in their story.

    10. Stunt-woman Kendra Michaels, unwittingly has 2 glasses of champagne after taking a painkiller for a back injury, and ends up in a one night stand with the director of the movie she has contracted for. He is ready to make her his mistress, but she sets him straight. She pays her own way. She needs her independence to get jobs and pay of her brother's medical bills. His over-protectiveness and her independence are the conflict in the novel. There are several great side characters. I good series ro [...]

    11. Kind of sappy and unrealistic, same as the first one in this series. So far, this series has been disappointing for me.

    12. This was a great story! I love Kendra's personality and determination. She is bound to take care of herself and her brother no matter the cost. Until the sexy Joel Damon enters the picture. Joel comes off a little arrogant at first, but I still liked him. But as the story moves on, he's actually a lot more considerate that I had originally given him credit for.I'll tell you that I hated that Kendra hid something very important from Joel. I can't reveal without spoiling the story, but she continu [...]

    13. Entertaining read, not great but not bad either. Fairly short read with a typical story line. Stunt woman Kendra sees noted director Joel at party. Both are attracted to each other. Joel more so than Kendra. For some puzzling reason he adopts an unusually possessive attitude toward her. He sees her with an employee who happens to be a long time friend of hers and mistakes her for just another scheming actress out to score a part. A little tipsy from pain pills and champagne, Kendra not thinking [...]

    14. This story is about a stunt women name Kendra. Her entire family were stunt people. Her parents were killed in a car accident, that left her and her brother. Her brother was badly injured doing a stunt and has been unable to work every since, so Kendra has taken responsibility to care for her brother and the mounting bills. She works extremely hard and takes on high paying stunts to care for her brother and his expenses. During one of her jobs she meets director Joel Damon and an unusual bond is [...]

    15. Note that this a reissue of a Loveswept title from the early 1980s - probably very early in Johansen's career. Like many 1980s romances, the hero is an overprotective, condescending older man. And in order to be virginal, the female is a immature young woman who makes stupid choices the hero has to rescue her from or teach her better. It would be one star, but I gave it an extra star for the Hollywood stunt details elevates it above the typical category romance.

    16. OK, so this isn't a mystery, more of a romance novel. I generally read Iris Johansen's mysteries and just happened to pick this up.OK, other than the fact that romances are not my favorites, this was a pretty good read. There were exciting stunts, conflict, practical jokes, and great sex. She is very good describing the relationship between people.

    17. This is the 2nd in a series I didn't know was a series, and read out of order. The book prior to this was "Stormy Vows" about Michael & Brenna Donovan; and the book after this is "Touch the Horizon" about Billie Callaghan. I usually like the author's storyline, but have decided Johansen's heroes leave a lot to be desired. They seem to very arrogant and not very relational at all.

    18. (submitted in the Summer Reading Grand Prize Drawing at the East Branch - chosen as a staff favorite)A story about two photographers who take a trip from the West Coast to the East Coast, taking pictures for a magazine. It is interesting how they see the same scene but view it differently. I would love to have seen the pictures.-submitted by Marilyn

    19. Johansen's protagonists seem to blend into one another. Nothing really stands out, character-wise. The men are bossy and arrogant. The women are gorgeous, and no matter how "stubborn" the author describes them, they are all submissive to the men. Annoying after awhile. The most interesting aspect of the novel was the setting of behind the scenes of stuntmen and the filming of a blockbuster film.

    20. Hollywood stunt double Kendra Michaels is vying for a dangerous job. Director Joel Damon is a man who always gets what he wants, and he wants Kendra. All he has to do is keep her alive and convince her to take chance on him

    21. Nice romance between a movie directory and a stunt woman. Nothing extraordinary about it, but a fine romance from the 1980'sThese are listed as part of a series, but from what I can see the only thing they have in common is the same fictitious country

    22. I should have read the reviews before buying this book. I mistakenly thought that it would feature Kendra Michaels from the Kendra Michaels series but no such luck. This book was obviously written before feminism became a big thing, thank goodness Iris' writing has evolved along with the times.

    23. I discovered the author Iris Johansen, and her older Harlequin books. Very light reading, but it keeps you captured, with your eyes and emotions! I seem to be addicted and finish them in about a day. If you like quick reads that get pretty emotional, you would love these books.

    24. Not my usual book to read. This was more of a romance novel and I really don't do romance novels. I happen to catch a liking to one of the characters and had to read through the whole book just to see what happen to them.

    25. Bored to tears. Mills & Boon eat your heart out. Was expecting a mystery and got a stereotypical romance novel instead.
