    1. At first I thought, “Passable,” and I kept reading it, unlike the first Jamil Nasir book I picked up. Then I got more and more interested in it. It has a looping kind of unreality to it that reminds me of Philip K. Dick.

    2. Original review posted at Layers of Thought.John’s quick take:An ambitious science fiction brain tease in which the protagonist “falls into an astonishing metaphysical shadow play”. What is real and what isn’t? What does real even mean? John’s description: Set at some point in the future, the story revolves around Heath Ransom who is a very special kind of private investigator. He is a former police psychic and machine-enhanced “endovoyant” who is able to travel into etheric worlds [...]

    3. Heathcliff Ransom is an Endovid detective who gets interred into a science-fiction version of Ground Hog day. Bouncing between his life as detective to young genetically engineered stud Michael Beach, Ransom/Michael uncover conspiracies and try to make sense of their dual immortality. Most of the book is bogged down with heavy science terms and jargon that the typical reader will not be able to understand outside of the surface meaning. Coupled with 'future' tech, this can make the book difficult [...]

    4. Heath Ransom, the main character of Jamil Nasir’s new novel Tunnel Out of Death, is an endovoyant investigator, which means he uses his enhanced sense of empathy, combined with futuristic immersion tank technology, to solve mysteries and track people in the etheric world. While trying to find the consciousness of a rich comatose woman in the astral sphere, he encounters something he’s never seen before: a black tear in the not-quite-reality he accesses during his investigations.Inexorably pu [...]

    5. Armed with modern science's understanding of quantum physics theory*, Nasir has made a tremendous contribution to the ethical debates about robots which Asimov helped to spark into flame. Furthermore, inquiries into the natures of life and/or death can be found wrapped in this political thriller, keeping company with a love story as well as a ghost story. I did not know this author before picking up this book, but will be seeking out his earlier half dozen novels, eagerly. *This stuff is so far [...]

    6. This book was horrible. Read the back of the book and then move on. Not much more than is described there happens in the book and then everything is dropped so that the author can pontificate on the nature of death and then be done. So horrible

    7. The story was like the movie "Groundhog Day" but his time the main character was dead then he wasn't or in some 'astral state', and don't sleep with an android, you'll probably end up dead.
