    1. Forced to read this for John Najemy's Machiavelli course at Cornell. Often meandering, sometimes tedious, there are are still some real gems in hear. Machiavelli was a witty guy, and the letters are an interesting portrait of what his life and times were like, and what he was interested in, when nobody was looking. Can't really recommend buying it, but it's fun to browse in.

    2. i love reading old letters between ppl i normally just read about. this book was one more step in my undying devotion to machiavelli.who was a REPUBLICAN!!!
