    1. And I thought this sequel might “ruin” the original for me! Far from it. It took me awhile to write this review simply because I knew that would be the end of Jade Darcy and I am bereft. My friends and I have this argument often: which is the best series of Star Trek? True, this entirely comes down to preference, but most people don’t like Deep Space 9 because it’s self-contained (no traveling from random planet to random planet) and political. While DS9 is not my favorite series it’s [...]

    2. "Jade Darcy And The Zen Pirates is a sequel to the first Jade Darcy novel by Stephen Goldin and his wife Mary Mason. But it is far more than a follow-on story. It is a wonderful, amazing and gripping story of a young woman mercenary with cyborg improvements who has refused to feel most human emotions out of fear that the Earth military, from whom she deserted after being raped, will find her on a remote planet. Darcy's adventures could fill a year's worth of TV shows, and her reality is far more [...]

    3. I decided to go with 4 stars, because this episode fills in a lot of the backstory that was left open in the previous one. Read back to back, the Jade Darcy books are a pretty good piece of classic science fiction, even if Spider Robinson's gushing praise seems still exaggerated, and even inappropriate. There is obviously room for a third one, where the source of Jade Darcy's recurring nightmares would be revealed more fully. Obviously the third book would be about the mysterious "Blue Harvest" [...]

    4. Jade Darcy goes with her friend Megan to be bodyguard or something on some trade negotiations, nothing else happens, the book ends. This book had none of the interesting stuff and none of the action that I enjoyed so much in the 1st book.
