(Original review date: 23 October 2011)A crotchety old misanthrope walks along the beach and bitches about stuff.If you want to know about how much better things were in the good ol' days ("the good ol' days" being the 1930's, when Manning was a kid) than they are now ("now" being the 1970's, when all this bitching was going on), then THIS IS YOUR BOOK.If that's not your thing, fear not. At least once a chapter, all that yammering makes Manning hungry, and then he'll go on for paragraphs about t [...]

    2. I started my walk with Harvey over 2 years ago, honestly reluctant for it ever to end. It’s not a book for everyone, but for me, yes. I spent childhood summers roaming the beaches Harvey revered and I will never forget them.
