    1. This book never fails to make me roar, even though I´ve read it several times. Her play with English, Spanish, and French (she´s a French professor) and their interactions is so clever that I cannot begin to imagine how to translate it. Most of the stories deal with Caribbean (not just Puerto Rican) cultures, societies, and their interaction--a call for a Pan-Caribbean identity?Very short, worth every minute of your time.

    2. Encancaranublado by Ana Lydia Vega - Spanish EditionWritten in 1982, much earlier than her best book of short stories: “Falsas Crónicas del Sur”—1991, it presents a writer in the process of developing her voice. I had a hard time with this book of short stories and found no reason for anyone to read it. If you wish to read anything from Lydia Vega, please read “Falsas Crónicas del Sur.”

    3. All I read was El baul de Miss Florence. Decent. Latin American fiction class - female author who is well respected!
