    1. Dnf'd at 20%. I had no idea what genre this was: chick-lit, crime-thriller, even medical romance! The dialogue was stilted and utterly ponderous - the scene where David recounts what happens in his upcoming medical examination was particularly outstanding for its inanity. I quote: 'It will take two hours. I start by talking to Dr Elson about my general state of health, my training regime, a few personal issues, male things, you understand, and any other matters I want him to consider. He then gi [...]

    2. Megan is a schoolteacher who has lived on the west coast of Wales all of her life. Widowed by the war in Iraq, she is a bit of a mess. An avid sportswoman, she meets corporate financier David Rensburg while playing in a tennis tournament. David, a divorcee with two teenage sons is involved in an attempt to generate finance for the expansion of a retail business, working alongside the unscrupulous Martin Van Dijl.Unsurprisingly romance develops between David and Megan, catalysed by David being bo [...]

    3. This romantic thriller was such fun to read, especially so for me as much of the novel is set in the beautiful region I am fortunate enough to now call home. I enjoy reading books set in surroundings that I am familiar with, an extra bonus for a change to be able to picture places without imagination. Do not get me wrong though I get much pleasure from using my imagination when reading normally, the very reason I always read the book before seeing the film. As a matter of fact I think this novel [...]

    4. This isn't for me. I packed it in on page 33 ! For starters it aggravated me because the author doesn't use paragraph breaks and just swoops from one scene to another and it makes things needlessly confusing. I didn't believe for one minute that Megan met David and then answered his mobile phone for him going so far as to enquire who was calling him-it wouldn't happen-and finally we headed onto the whole cholesterol, blood fats, haemoglobin page and I switched off completely. I'd little interest [...]

    5. While on holiday in Lanzarote, a stranger said she was finished with this book and asked if I'd like it (I was bookless at the time). Aw, what a generous soul, I thought. "It's not the best I've read, but it's okay," she said. Yes she was a generous soul. This is not okay. Clumsy and cliched, it's either dull or ridiculous, sometimes both. Note to self: DO NOT GO ON HOLIDAY WITHOUT YOUR KINDLE!

    6. Really good romantic easy readwould recommend. 'Megan's Game' is being made into a feature film, due for release Spring 2014. Looking forward to that one!!
