  1. This was an easy, uplifting and interesting read. Two boys try out their wilderness and survival know-how, never straying too far from home, yet far enough to test their mettle. Makes me want to spend more time in the wild.

  2. The companion book to "Bones on Black Spruce Mountain" that takes place a year prior to "Bones." A sparse collection of three short stories that would probably only appeal to kids who enjoyed Budbill's other book, or those who are into camping, hiking, and the outdoors. I fit into both categories, so I enjoyed this one as a kid, and had fun revisiting it.
