    1. We were assigned four stories to read out of this, but I read the rest on a whim. It was a good decision. With just the stories we were assigned, this book would've pulled 2 stars, but the rest bring it up a bit. "Two Words" is now one of my favorite short stories ever and I always love it when I get to read sassy things by Juana Ines de la Cruz.

    2. Good Stories from the Collection: * Mexican Masks (Octavio Paz)* The Feather Pillow (Horacio Quiroga)Great Stories and Authors for further reading: * The Return (Rosario Castellanos)* The Eclipse (Augusto Monterroso)* The Secret Miracle (Jorge Luis Borges)* Looking for Some Dignity (Clarice Lispector)
