    1. A delightful book chronicling the life and work of Alba Ballard with her parrots through a brief biographical essay and whimsical photos of the parrots enacting scenes satirizing celebrities, movies and commercials. This book is an absolute joy to read.

    2. If you love kitsch and/or dressing up animals, this book is for you! The pictures are amusing, but make sure to read the introduction - a brief biography of the woman behind the scenes. I fell in love with the late Mrs. Ballard's plight to make herself (and her avian companions) into stars. As a bird owner/ownee, it is particularly mind-boggling to see dozens of birds graciously posing in scene after scene. A peculiar gift.

    3. this is the most hilarious book of photos i have ever seen in my life, and it was also incidentally the best book-related gift i probably have ever gotten. oh, the years of joy it has brought to my life.

    4. Eccentric bird-lover who creates miniature outfits for her pet parrots, and then photographs them with little props. It really can't get much more random, or better, than this!

    5. This is well-written about a most wonderfully quircky woman who dressed up her pet parrots not just dressed them upe was a Parrot Artist. She is a person I wish I had met and hung out with.

    6. Another fantastically funny photo book. Something about dressing up animals is really funny to me, but these birds really seem to be getting into it (unlike cats), and that makes it all the better.
