    1. I am not sure what this book is really supposed to be about, so let me guess: It's about illustration itself. It's about imagination, color, mythology. It might just be a collection of drawings and paintings. It would seem to be informed by Edward Gorey--some of the characters depicted here look like some of his--who hated narrative, was subversive in that way. So it's not about narrative.     2. This is a beautiful book to look at. Julie Morstad's drawings are stripped down to the essentials yet bursting with information and soul . This book would be a great gift for someone who appreciates good illustration.
