    1. i can't believe i had to manually add this book to the databasedric won the nobel prize for literature for christ's sake.i'ts a pretty sad state of affairs that nobody is reading him at all.i have 3 of his novels, at least.on top of that, this is a really great book, it's the story of a woman whose father becomes very rich, then loses it all, and just before he dies, he makes his daughter promise to be thrifty always and not make the same mistakes he did.well she takes this to heart in a very bi [...]

    9. This is the second book i 'm reading by Andric after i have read his masterpiece for many people "Bridge on Drina" which i had found excellent, and i liked it as much as the previous one.As the title predisposes central figure of this book is "Miss". A very special, unique and interesting character. A woman, that an event during her puberty, changed completely her life, her thinking and generally her whole worldview, making her from a girl into a woman, cruel, greedy, distant, inhospitable to pe [...]

    13. Kako ovaj čovek kroz sudbinu jednog malog običnog čoveka dočara celu jednu zemlju i njen raznovrsni narod! Divan prikaz Sarajeva tokom Prvog svetskog rata i Beograda izmedju dva rata.

    14. I would expect that my reading of The Woman from Sarajevo as religious would inspire some surprise but I could only find it fitting for a work that devotes itself to some heavily metaphysical overtones in the nature of life, death, and the accumulation of money. The book begins with this question in mind by having as its prolog a short summary of the death of the main character, Raika Radakovich, whose life we discover in narrative form after we know how and when she dies. I use the word metaphy [...]

On jotenkin outoa lukea rahaan hullaantuv [...]

    19. In the whole book I was not sure if I disliked or felt pity about the Rajka, the main character of the book. For sure I felt sad for her when she remembered the words of her father after being fooled. It is really interesting how her life is developed after the death of her father how his last words affects her life. It is also really interesting that it is mentioned some historical facts about WW I and how Belgrade changed after the end of it. In conclusion I felt it was nice book that I totall [...]

    20. Ovo je priča o osobenjaštvu usamljeničkog života, o strastima i slastima tvrdičluka. O "trpežu i krpežu", neočekivanim obrtima sudbine i o naizgled beslovesnoj trpeljivosti.

    24. This is another Andrić book that tells part of the history of the Balkans through a tale about an individual. In this case, a spinster-miser is blind to the tumultuous upheavals taking place around her, as Yugoslavia comes into being, and is racked by further foreign intervention. It casts into sharp relief the tension that exists between individual aspiration, and the duty to play one's part in wider society and national history.
